Gotcha. Yeah, that's not good. 11% degradation shouldn't be happening within the first 150,000 km.

I'd take it in to the shop.
@LukeManning - as a Porsche expert do you have a view/have you seen this?

My Turbo s has now nearly 11.000 km. No later than yesterday I had 310 range combined with 26.8 kw/ 100km (275 km driwen and 35 km remaining). That makes 83kw. So the capacity seems intact. This being said, I had already the problem with a lower capacity. It was due to the blancing software. You should close your car after charging at least for two hours. This helps to initiate the balancing process among the different cells.

I wouldn't say EXPERT haha. Some of y'all know wayyyy more about these cars than even I do.

That being said, batteries degrade over time and start slowly degrading from Day 1. What we saw at Tesla was about a 10% Degradation after about 100,000 miles in Model S.

I think the Taycans range gauge could be throwing out estimates that aren't actually representative to what is expected out of the battery, causing people to worry about the battery "degrading" instead of it just changing the range based on driving style and charging usage.

If there is a noticeable degradation though, bring it into your Porsche Dealer and have them document it. The batteries have a warranty for a certain % of degradation, and individual cells can be replaced if their is substantial range loss.

I will say driving 32,000 km or roughly 20k miles in 6 months is a ton of driving - you're probably one of the only Taycan owners in the world with that much mileage on the car. OP I would please bring your car into your Porsche Dealer ASAP for them to look into the batteries and send this information to Porsche in Germany, could be very useful for them.

Start with 30-35°C, end (about 80%) with 51°C (123.8°F).
What is the rate of charge you have with those temps?
I just charged yesterday at a 150kw charger and it went from 135kw down to 100kw as the car charged. But the temp ended at 95F, so I wonder if your issue on range/degradation is related to the temps you are hitting.

Do other people hit temps that high when charging?

I certainly did on my only charge on Ionity. Outside temperature was only 17.5°C and battery temperature reached 49°C at 70% charge. If I remember correctly,(this was almost two months ago) it got up to 51° at 85% (no photo to back this up).

Unless Porsche has said differently, lithium ion batteries can safley go up to 60 degrees celcuius.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1002007118307536

" The acceptable temperature region for LIBs normally is −20 °C ~ 60 °C. Both low temperature and high temperature that are outside of this region will lead to degradation of performance and irreversible damages, such as lithium plating and thermal runaway. "

no one except porsche can know - the true state of the battery is “hidden” from the owner of the vehicle - Porsche Service would need to run diagnostics and share the results with the owner to really know what’s going on.

How do you change the display to show the battery temperature? The pic in this thread shows the main battery temperature. I can’t seem to get that on the screen.

Same here - cannot figure out that either. Mine shows voltage, battery remaining, and that the phone is connected to the car.
