Just bumping this thread to mention that I’m having this problem on my 2022 Taycan. The car was dropped off at my house by the dealer 5 days ago. The problem was present from the start. 2 days ago I contacted the dealer and the SA said that I might need to wait a few days and he also said he contacted Porsche support but couldn’t get ahold of anyone.

Same circumstances regarding being logged in with my My Porsche account on the Porsche Connect app on my phone and my vehicle is added and appears in the app. Red blinking SOS light. Gray login button in the car and if you click it a message appears saying “Registration is currently not available”. Same message appears if you click “My Account” anywhere within the menus.

Today I also contacted PCNA online via their contact form on the website at https://www.porsche.com/usa/dialogue/contactandinformation/contactus/

I will update this thread again when I get it resolved and how.

Funny when I picked up my car at the dealer had a special " Porsche App specialist" who made sure all the settings were done on my mobile, my wife's mobile and in working order before I left. If I have questions can call her directly. Works fine since they day I picked the car up.

Had this problem when I initially took delivery of the car. It initially did not work, but the next day I was able to login fine. Make sure your SOS light is green. If it isn't this indicates a problem with the cell signal for the car. Next, try adding and removing the car from the Porsche Connect app.

My phone is on Verizon but in the car if I look up the cell connection info it said AT&T. It says the car has a cell connection. Perhaps it hasn’t been activated or something.

This is quite likely the problem. I would assume that Porsche (as most other OEMs) use eUICC (e-sim) which requires the boot strap operator (most likely a German one, like Deutsche Telekom) to OTA out the operator code, after which the subscription needs to be activated. This eUICC thingie is still in a fairly early stage of adoption, so I would not be surprised if AT&T are struggling with it at times.

This thread is a good reminder to make sure your delivery includes making sure these services are set up before you drive off the lot or the delivery team leaves.

That said, PCM likes to fluctuate in and out of functionality. In my month of CT4 ownership a few times the Apple Music/Podcast has shut itself down and powered itself back up without issue. I've been logged out of my profile and an hour later it magically works and is back in.

Hi everyone,

Picked up my 2021 Taycan last night, have already put 80 miles on it and love it, except for this Porsche Connect mess.

I’ve searched and read through several threads of similar issues with seemingly no reliable solution. The specific issue I’m having is:

Settings > Set-up Assistant > Porsche ID login: Login button greyed out. When pressed, “Function not available”

I’ve ensured privacy mode is off. The vehicle is visible in “My Porsche” account on the web and most services are active. Though I noticed when I do have privacy mode enabled, it disables some services stating privacy mode is activated. So some communication must be happening.

I am able to log into the app, though the app claims “Remote access has been deactivated”.

“My Porsche” shows a service “In-car Wi-Fi Hotspot powered by Verizon” (this is important further down)

Here are my other observations:
  • PCM software version: MPR3_US_POG46_P3397. The PCM states a software update is available, but I can't install it because I can't log in.
  • SOS button above rear view: flashing red LED, when pressed, voice says “the emergency call cannot be made”
  • Online radio: “function not available”
  • Settings > Accounts > Add new account: “Account can currently not be added”
  • Data connection settings > Integrated SIM card status: AT&T, 3 of 5 bars (shouldn’t this be Verizon?)
  • At one point I *believe* I saw a message stating map data had been updated, but I was driving and I can’t be certain.
I called Porsche Connect customer support twice today. Once in the morning and was told she would “research it” and call me back in a few hours. I waited 6 hours before calling back. This time I worked with the rep for about 20 minutes doing the same troubleshooting steps as before. She put me on hold, and then transferred me to a PCNA number with a recording stating they were closed.

Any help to get this working would be appreciated. I'd prefer not to have to take it back to the dealer if possible but that may not be realistic.

Thank you!
I'm probably too late posting but you should not leave the dealership on handover unless your car is connected with your Porsche ID - part of the handover process.

Was this the case?

I finally was able to get this resolved. I had to take it back to the dealer for a service appointment and they “performed vehicle handover procedure” according to the invoice. That made the SOS light green and I was able to log into Porsche Connect after that.

Can you guys see Smart Lift in your PCM menu? I can't. Picked up my car a month ago. But I do get prompted each time I raise the car to save the location, and it does raise automatically each time.

Smart lift needs the Porsche connect service I think.
I've had my car for the last week. Connect working perfectly, and now after a long drive I'm getting the same issue.

Yes, unfortunately. This is my first Porsche and it was explained to me that I would receive an email "within 24 hours" of delivery. I was not aware that setting up my Porsche ID should have been part of the handover process.

I am going in to dealer today to what they can do. Will let you all know if there is a fix and how they achieve it.

Shane indeed. These are fundamental steps the dealership should advise you on. You can do some of it in advance but at a certain point in time the dealership needs to to step up and guide you through.
