I was surprised to see huge solar panels that actually provide the energy for the charger (or so said the person in charge of the gas station). He also informed me that there were huge battery banks to accumulate energy for the nighttime charging. I sincerely doubt it. I think what he pointed out as batteries are the transformers from the high voltage lines (from 15,000V to 150,000V are common here).

I initiated the charge with my Porsche charging card and not three minutes after I had parked, the charging session was initiated and concluded after 21 minutes at 85%. I needed no more to get home and I used the touch display on the charger to end the session. I was able to charge up to 255kw with 19% SOC and 34ºC battery temp to start with. Battery temperature reached 50ºC by the time we where at 75% SOC and still charging at around 120kw. Ambient temperature at 10:00 was a cool 17,5ºC, with an expected high of 38ºC at around 16:00.

A few photos of the recently inaugurated Ionity station with a lonely Taycan !
