I know there’s been a lot of posts on the charger and overheating issue but it’s a lot to sift through and I haven’t been able to get my answer Here’s two basic questions:

1. Does overheating impact the standard charger? (yes or no)

2. Can I just use it at 50% and not have an issue with overheating? (yes or no)

Thank you very much.

EDIT:
1. Yes
2. Yes

The overheating issue seems to be region specific - NA in areas where there are warm ambient temperatures seems to impact the non standard Porsche Mobile Charger Connect (PMCC).

Not an issue with either charger outside NA in general.

Suggest leaving your EVSE on full power unless you have experienced overheating. Reducing the power to 50% will double your.charging time remember.

So yes, you can set to 50% but no need if your unit hasn't been problematic thus far.

Overheating may impact the charger due to heat and melting damage.

Yes, you can use the charger set to 50% however the car will charge much slower.

You invested in a premium car. Do yourself a favor and purchase a JuiceBox 40 Charger for $650.00 and have a better charger and peace of mind.

Would using the NEMA 14-30 power cord with a 30 Amp circuit and the PMC+ set to 100% effectively operate the PMC+ at 75% capacity? If so, that would probably reduce the risk of overheating.
