I have an old car battery charger that works extremely well in winter times with my ICE cars (that I don't use too often);

Any experience–can I use the charger (CTEK) to charge the Taycan's 12V battery, too?

I have one but not used it on the Taycan. In theory it should trickle charge ok via the 12V adopter socket in the car - remember to set the CTEK to Li-Ion. Check the manual.

I don't think a ordinary CTEK charger used for lead acid/gel/agm would be appropriate. You would need one that is compatible with Lithium batteries like the CTEK Lithium XS charger or a Noco one.

Yes, I got also a response from CTEK–it would only work if the 12V battery is not lithium;
but I think it is, correct?

Yes it will be correct. I have the Porsche version which supports both lithium and lead.

The Taycan 12v battery is lithium. You need to be careful here since not all CTEK chargers are the same. The newer Porsche ones are compatible with both lead acid and lithium but older Porsche chargers are lead acid only.
Also most CTEK chargers are lead acid only and only one model (CTEK Lithium XS) is suitable for lithium batteries.
Most NOCO chargers are suitable for both lead acid and lithium.

Thanks!

However, just learnt through Porsche that it's prob not necessary for Y21 models anymore.
The problem is fixed, the 12V battery is charged via the 800V system.

This has always been the case in normal operation - how do you think it charged to maintain its charge?
