I’ve just had a total failure of both charge port doors out of the blue today. Tried various resets. Porsche assistance came out and can’t fix it so it needs to go to the dealer. Sheesh.
Same here.
Both doors locked.
Again.

First time:
Last weekend I couldn't disconnect from AC charger at work.
I pulled the cord for emergency release, it disconnected.
The door wouldn't close though.
I drove home with the door open.
Next day the door was closed again...?
I tried to open it: nope, didn't work on both sides.?
I removed the cover with the tool:
Porsche Taycan Charging Port Impaired - "Left (or right) charging port impaired" error message Screenshot_20220312-203619

It didn't charge.
It looks like the locking doesn't work anymore cuz I can hear it trying to lock...(pulling the emergency cord made it got stuck?).
I pulled out the plug.
Literally...
...
After a few days the doors started working again!
But still the charging on the right side didn't work.
I called Porsche on friday and brought it in.
And you guessed right.....no problem whatsoever! ??
It charged without any issue...

I drove home to check at a fastcharger: no problem.
I tried at home: no problem.
Yeeee! ?

I checked today: doors won't open. ???
....
I think I still have a problem.
Actually two:
-doors won't open.
-can't charge after pulling cord.
Let's see what happens this weekend...

I had the same issue months ago, on and off for a few weeks. Sometimes they would not open. Or could not charge after they opened. My dealer replaced both ports. Not a single issue since

I suspect the right port cuz the very first problem started there.
Cuz if that right port generates an issue, the left port is blocked as well, makes sense, doesn't it?
We'll see...

Actually when I had a port failure it was the opposite side that was replaced and not the 'faulty' one. Dealer tried to explain at the time but I quickly glazed over!

I got in my car yesterday to drive it to the dealer, and all errors and problems had stopped! Working a treat again now. I’ve got an appointment for a months time for recalls anyway so going to hope it was just a glitch and monitor it.

Just had the port door stuck after a dc charge. It won’t close so had to drive back in the rain with it open. To keep any debris getting in I’ve connected my home charger to it and will call dealership in the morning if it hasn’t corrected itself. Will post any updates I get

Forgot to report back.
At that time I brought it in again cuz it didn't work properly.
After replacing the sensor and free the emergency cable (and rerouted it properly) it all worked again.
And it still does.

I don't think I've done a charge yet where this warning HASN'T come on. Never had an issue with a stuck door or where I haven't been able to charge.

So this morning after being locked and charging normally at home the port door shut without any drama.

Will keep an eye on it and will report it to dealership when I pickup my GTS.

I just came home with 10%SoC, wanted to charge as usual, red error displayed: charging not possible.
I locked & unlocked the car, tried another (passengers’) port. Same error.
I sit into the car, switched it on, made photos below.
Then, I locked the car again, went into the house, came back after few minutes, tried again…and it started to charge :whew:

any ideas?

some more info:
- outside temp +12 C
-battery temp: 22 C
- Last trip: 123km, 52km/h, 22,6kwh/100km

Just read other comments.
Both ports opened/closed automatically without any problems.
Charging works now.

I've seen the temporary impairment message if the port door has closed on the DC plastic flap if it hasn't sprung back into place after charging and the door attempts to close and then opens again.

Thx, @W1NGE .
My main concern is why charging didn’t start.

Shot in the dark...

Mine is temperamental that the charger is inserted properly.
At home I need to hold it firmly in place until it locks in, as it can be a stretch from the evse (parking dependant).

It took me a while to suss it out. Only when reading on here about people needing to hold the charger firmly in place at DC public chargers did i get the light bulb moment.
From then on never had a problem, whereas I used to get the red charging fault a lot.

Thx…never happened before.
My thoughts: maybe i should charge before 10% SoC? If battery degrade 10% (my theory since i’m not getting 420km at 100% SoC anymore), is it possible that SoC was too low?
