I got the WNJ8 update done Monday/Tuesday last week. All as expected except for one headache....

My timers and profiles were all in place but the car does not charge to the timer - I want between it to charge 12.30 and 4.30am for cheap rate so have a departure timer set at 4.30 am

I have deleted the timer and profile and re done them but still doesn't charge over night

If I hit direct charge all works as expected.

Anyone else have this and have you resolved it?

Ive attached my settings

Looks fine to me and I use the exact same but stop at 07:00.

Have noticed other issues with the update but not charging.

Perhaps power cycle your EVSE and try again?

Also does your PCM concur with the active profile and timer settings?

timers/profiles work as well/poorly as they did prior to the update for me.

Thanks daveo4EV - this timer profile set up worked absolutely as anticipated for me prior to the update. Now it doesn't start the charge at all overnight.

Are you saying that timers profiles didn't work for you intermittently or that the implementation is a little sketchy/complex/non intuitive?

Perhaps try deleting everything and starting over. It might be that the location-based portion of the timer has been corrupted, similar to how smart-lift lost its memory.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

I've tried that - I deleted all the timers and profiles . Left the car off at work for a day and then re did them as I posted above.

Still doesn't't initiate a charge in the preferred hours between 12.30 and 4.30am

Interestingly if I hit direct charge on the app during that time period send to to the car and then turn immediately direct charge off again it seems to kick start it and the car then charges to 04.30am

?

all charging is "departure" time charging - the car "knows" how long it will take to charge - so it won't start charging in the perferred ccharging time window until it "needs" to start charger to finish "on time"

perhaps that is what is happening?

What is your SOC before connecting your EVSE?

If power cycle didn't help try shortenithe departure time as an experiment e.g. 18:00 to 19:00 to force an immediate start.

Various SOC eg last night was at 60% but did not charge at all . I’ve also tried bringing the departure time forward if I bring it close enough to force immediate charging it starts ok. If there is a delayed start it didn’t start.

However it looks like the EVSE reset has worked - a test timer set for this evening worked ok. Hopefully it will work tonight.

thanks for your help 👍

Ok - very frustrating.
Car left on charge last night at 70% same settings as above but did not charge at all?

any ideas?

What EVSE are you using?

What cabling are you using (EVSE to car)?

If it works one night and nothing in the mix changes then no reason for it not to repeat without problem. The only reason would be that your car was already at the minimum SOC for the profile that you have set which we know it wasn't when this happened, right?

If not a Porsche EVSE then potentially a conflict between whatever EVSE you use and the PCM control. This would then take me down the path of applying latest firmware updates to your EVSE where available (and power cycle).

I have Rolec Wallpod- I can't see a way to update the firmware for it.

I'm note sure that the power cycle may have been a coincidence as it didn't charge again last night - I am plugging in with SOC below the target charge.

No issues with charging to timers as above before the uPdate using the same ESVE.

so I'm not sure what the problem is...
