Hey all. About 3 months / 2000 miles into my 4s ownership and overall thrilled. Question for the chat: I’m getting an avg of 2.5 miles / kWh - is that most folks experience? I drive fast whenever on the highway (80-ish) and have done a bit of Launch Control - but this seems like poor consumption figures to me. Also, my max charge is 215 @ 100%...thoughts and stories would be appreciated. Edit: I am in NY so temps have been 30-50F.

In the current NJ weather, my 100% SoC is about 280 miles (4S with 19” wheels) but I do little highways miles at 80+...

That’s huge difference. No chance that’s only due to 21” wheels and slightly more spirited driving?

My range is about 30% higher than yours. My bet would be that 15% of that is due to the 21”-vs-19” wheels (I also have manual charge Port covers which helps a bit) and 15% is due to your free spirit and my being limited to Trader Joe’s runs.

For what its worth... My Turbo S, currently shows 183 miles whenever I leave the garage (charging set to 85%)

and 183 miles @ 85% would be exactly 215 miles @ 100%

(21 inch wheels/tires)

Hah. I do like driving it and have done a bunch of 80 mile r/t freeway sessions in a very spirited way...but still seems off to me...was wondering if it has anything to do with my charging patterns which include always topping back up to 85/90%...never really running it down below 40%...

Got it. That’s sadly about right. I thought for sure I’d be able to get 225-250 out of a full charge...guess not!

You don't need to run it down (or run it up)...

Estimated Range is mostly effected by your recent driving style. If I spend a lot of time around town, my estimated range goes up. After a long road trip, my estimated range goes down.

I typically charge to 85% only when it drops below 55-60%. Only ran it below 40% once.

@Schlossj, I forgot to mention that I also increased my tire pressure from about 35-36 PSI to about 39-40 PSI. That did make a difference in efficiency.

It is probably due to your current outside winter temps. I have 21” Mission e, usually drive in Sport plus, take off from every traffic light, drive short distances, and plug in every time I get home back to 85%. My car currently shows 231 miles at 85%.

I used to show well over 200 @ 85% as well. Then I took a 1400 mile road trip. Its been pretty much 183 @ 85% ever since (months)...

(...and I'm OK with that. Pretty much what I was led to believe for the TurboS.)

Also Mamba Green, the race stripe on the steering wheel, and the message on the vanity plate probably add another 30 miles of range.

If I remember correctly, my pressures are specced on the decal at 42 (front) and 45 (rear). Are yours different?
