Continental ExtremeContact™ DWS06 PLUS in OEM 21" sizes (J1.1)

I noticed Continental now makes the ExtremeContact™ DWS06 PLUS in OEM 21" sizes (J1.1). I was just curious if anyone has tried them on a Taycan. They are not NF rated, but Continental's website states they are "EV Compatible" (not sure what EV compatible is actually referring to). They are "Y" speed rated as opposed to the NFO's "H" speed rating...not that I will ever go that fast, as my Cross Turismo is basically used to haul items from Costco, Home Depot and Green Acres garden center.

I just started looking at an All Season replacement. I live in Northern CA and it does get into the high 20's - low 30s in the winter, but no snow..so have not considered a true winter tire, not yet anyway...

Can't speak to Taycan feel, but I loved to DWS06s on my BMW M550i. Now that they're available, those will be in my short list for tires for the Taycan.

What's the tire size?

I used DWS 06 on my X5 and older variants on other AWD SUVs. They work well in light snow.

Huge fan of the DWS06+ on other cars. Have had many sets on many cars. Will be great for your use case in Norcal.

Great news, and thanks for sharing OP. I’m a huge fan of these Contis. In fact, my wife’s iX is currently running them in 22s and I have used them on many of my previous rides.

Anyone know how anal PFS is however if these were installed at lease return and them not being NF0? I have returned several leases with different tires from delivery so long as they were the same size, speed rating, and season.

What's the tire size?

265/35ZR21 101Y XL
305/30ZR21 104Y XL

The pricing seems reasonable when compared to the NFO/NF1 options on TireRack's website.

These came as the All Season option on my new Turbo S:

I had the DWS06 Plus on my Model S, Performance, and loved them. I live in the Pacific NW, where we get a lot of rain and occasional snow and thought they performed well on the Tesla. But man, that car ate tires for breakfast.

These ProContact RX tires are supposed to last a little longer and run quieter and softer, but we'll see. I've been surprised at how easily they break loose on hard acceleration.

Interestingly, if you go to the Continental website and search for tires by vehicle, it shows no options available for the Taycan.

You have a gorgeous Taycan !! Is it Oak Green Metallic ? I saw an Oak Green Metallic Cross Turismo on the showroom floor and it looked amazing !!

Thank you. It is Oak Green Metallic. I think it is a gorgeous color. My only hesitation ordering this color was that it is the launch spec color for the 2025 Turbo S, so all the dealer configured models are in the Oak Green.

I kind of like to have something different than everyone else. And I considered something different, short of paint to sample color, but ultimately decided I didn't care how many other cars in this color there are. I just like it so much more than any of the other options, so there it is.

I see you have a 23 Mini Cooper SE as well as a Taycan! That's my configuration as well. I use the Mini for my daily driving and errands and such. Just love that little car. It makes not driving the Taycan palatable.

Yes - we have a 2023 Mini Cooper SE Iconic. I agree with you, it is the perfect car for daily driving. The Taycan Cross Turismo is green also (Mamba Green Metallic).

Love the Mamba green! There is a CT in that color in Portland I've seen a few times. Stunning.

I did not. I bought mine as a CPO with 19k miles on it just a few months ago. It also has new tires on it. I didn't know about the adapter for wheel balancing. Tell me more.....
