I think if you look in the manual sleeping/ resting is fine, but smoking is not advised unless e cigarette.

Page 126 is the user manual says that smoking in the car with windows open is okay, but if they are closed you must put on AC in Eco mode & recline seat by 20%.

Do you know that it was the Taycan? Unlikely. Very likely to be faulty wiring or the user not understanding amp pull in less than adequate sized cabling.

It was here in Florida and the story is that it was a brand new car (only day or 2 old) and wiring had not even been hooked up in garage at the time of the fire. I asked my dealer if any position from Porsche on what happened and, no surprise, there is no explanation one way or the other yet.

sleeping in the EV while charging should present very little risk - I'd be more concerned about crossing the street to find another place to hang out…
