- 2020 Taycan 4S
I read that wireless CarPlay requires more bandwidth than Bluetooth allows, so your iPhone must be connected to the Taycan by WiFi for wireless CarPlay to work. I'll update this post if I find the reference. How did you end up making your wireless carplay work? I have a 2021 that I just picked up as well in the US. When I check my phone's CarPlay, it recognizes my car but my car doesn't show that anything is connected via bluetooth (second pic). Thoughts?
Update:
@Tay Tay said, "Both wifi and bluetooth are bidirectional communication protocols. Wifi has greater bandwidth so is required for things that are more data intensive (like wireless Apple Carplay)." https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/what-is-the-pcm-hotspot-for-anyway.2200/post-30554
Also, from the Porsche Connect Good to Know manual: "When Apple CarPlay is used, any active Bluetooth® connections (e.g. for telephony, media playback or news) are automatically disconnected."
