Hi guys,

I'm struggling to find a definitive list of the spec differences between Turbo and Turbo S?

I can see the S obviously has higher "launch" BHP, and I believe it has carbon ceramic brakes, but apart from that... What changes are there for the £23k difference (in the UK)?

Not worth the difference is it.

Turbo S comes standard with 21" wheels, sport chrono, rear axle steering, black window trim, matte carbon interior, and carbon exterior trim.

If you load up a Turbo with all of the Turbo S options (outside of the higher horsepower and carbon exterior trim which isn't possible) you still end up with a $17k USD difference. So you're paying a minimum of $17k for the extra horsepower and carbon trim.

Well that's pretty interesting. Is that extra 'boost' horsepower only available at launch control, or whenever the pedal is floored? If it's only available at launch, then figure maybe $3k in Carbon trim charge for the exterior, and you're looking at paying $14K more for the .2 second advantage only from a standing start. Sounds like after that the cars have identical performance.

Found the 80-120 km/h times on Porsche website : Turbo 1,9 sec .... and Turbo S 1,7 sec ... means boost not only at launch control

But Turbo for me ... no need for Turbo S ...

I went with the Turbo over the Turbo S, even though I'm a Turbo-S-kind-of-guy.

Reason? 9% better claimed range due to 20-inch wheels with better energy-efficiency-rated tires.

I suffer from range anxiety, or (better said) Tesla range envy.

I ordered my car yesterday and went for the Turbo. Lots of reasons, most importantly I would have to wait much longer for the Turbo S. Anyway with all my options the price was like a stripped Turbo S. I guess I get more value for money with the Turbo.

Same for me! Ordered a few day ago.
The price was like a base Turbo S

Same here and am being told delivery could be between March and May. I believe the Turbo is all anyone needs and also range is a little better than the "S" and besides I don't drive on a race track anyway. Have had deposit in from very first day car was announced.

The Turbo S has superior wheels, more power, carbon fibre trim....

And, crucially, it sits 3mm lower to the ground than the Turbo

That's probably only because of the slightly smaller diameter of the Turbo S wheels which you can spec on the Turbo anyway.

That's nice to hear, I guess this means you could therefore spec the Turbo so it has a 1378mm height? In fact, you could probably modify the Turbo for 1378mm height anyway, though seeing how low the standard car sits to the ground, I doubt there'll be many opportunities to customise a lowrider Taycan

Concerning the motors the 2 models are alike. During the test drive the drivers couldn’t detect any difference in acceleration, except when in launch mode when the Turbo S has a bigger inverter on the front motor. The overboost function is only available for 2,5 sec. I can’t see the Turbo S will be quicker around the Nürburgring. Well, maybe 0,4 sec. faster.
