Director as registered keeper rather than the limited company

Hi all,

I'm purchasing a 4s through ltd company and am requesting to have myself as the registered keeper. Dealer has said they are not able to do this!

I have purchased a number of other vehicles this way through BMW, Mitsubishi etc. previously and it has not been a problem.

Anyone had this with their Porsche dealer ?

As long as you are a director of this LTD company you can be the registered keeper. I did this!

The purchaser and owner are two totally separate things.

I bought my wife’s car but she is the owner

The registered keeper is the one who gets posted the tax reminders and any points!

There is no reason for them not to do this

Thanks all that is exactly what I thought. I will speak to the dealer again tomorrow and hopefully they will have changed their tune.

Unless I leave it in the dealers name and they can have the points & tax reminders

Dealer is being lazy or doesn't know what they are doing. The owner is different from the registered keeper. You definitely are wanting the right thing as your insurance will be sky high (Higher Anyway) if they don't do what you are asking.

Yep, I think they have got fed up with me mentioning the forum over the months.

I am sure they will acquiesce, especially given they want a bucket of cash off me on Friday!

From experience, some dealers take forums way more seriously than others. Best wishes with this, hope they see sense

A suitcase of cash does focus the mind! Some dealers are actually not too bad. My one in Aberdeen are doing alright, they could of course do better and I hope to be surveyed at the end.

Appears that it is the group policy to only register the car with the name on the invoice.

However they relented, but it did involve getting the dealer principle involved and me saying I wouldn't accept it.
