You’re not far from Atlanta. We had great luck dealing with them and they have a big inventory.
The new car manager over there is Wyll Dickenson, his cell phone number is 615-630-5914. He’ll work with you if he has something you like. Tell him Bill Winfield sent you.
Is it possible to get 6% (or more) on a new build MY2021 4S?I was offered a 6% discount off MSRP for an in-stock 4S in the DC area, I felt that an even greater discount was possible if I had pressed. None of the available cars were spec'd the way I would order a Taycan, and I am not confident that Porsche will rollout wireless Carplay to the 2020 models anytime soon (I have had wireless Carplay in BMWs for years, and am not wiling to go back to wired). Also, the numerous reports of electronics and battery issues with the Taycan, with no clear fix in site for some of the most serious ones (e.g., dead 12v battery/car), give me serious pause. I love many aspects of the Taycan, but am concerned about buyer's remorse if I encounter some of the serious issues reported on this forum. I plan to continue to monitor to see if Porsche is able to successfully resolve these issues before I take the plunge to order a Taycan. Given COVID travel restrictions and working from home, my Model 3 Performance more than meets my needs for now (only 2200 miles on the odometer since purchase in April). I like many aspects of the M3P, but see it more as a placeholder until a more desirable EV, including a Taycan without so many electrical issues, becomes available.

A discount from Porsche in the UK is not an easy thing to get, unless I am bad at negotiatingComing from a dealer I think it really depends on the current inventory of MY20' Taycan that a particular dealership has.
At Porsche Grapevine we have been fortunate enough to have essentially sold out of all of our Taycan inventory this year. In fact, about a month ago we didn't have any in stock and ended up purchasing 8 Taycan from dealerships on the West Coast that had over 40 in stock...
At the moment we only have 5 new 2020 Taycan in stock (and one CPO Turbo S). While we certainly are open to negotiations on our remaining 2020 inventory, I think a 10% concession on most models is going to be a bit hard in most markets.
I recommend those looking for some sort of crazy year end "deal" on a Taycan to look at dealerships with more than 15 Taycan in stock. That being said, if you end up purchasing a vehicle that's 1,500 miles away from your home and end up paying transportation or other associated out of state costs, you should factor that in and consider that maybe purchasing a vehicle closer to home with less of a concession is essentially the same thing. Or just take a road trip if you have the time!
I also remind people that some states are strange about their rebates. For example in Texas I'm almost positive that if you purchase a Taycan at a dealership outside of Texas that that dealership cannot help you apply for the $2,500 EV rebate that we have in this state because their dealership is not registered as a Texas dealer. So just keep in mind you might also not be able to take advantage of some state rebates unless you can talk to your local dealership and have them dealer trade for a Taycan elsewhere.
Happy Holidays everyone! Go get some Taycan for under the tree - it'll be the best present you ever buy
The problem with 2020's is they are technically a model-year old at this point. I haven't seen too many dealers do 12% off, but I'm sure on unique specs/colors/etc.. some don't want to be left holding old inventory going into 2021. If you don't mind, what discount did you get on the new order? When did your order lock for the 2021 delivery? For full disclosure my order is about to lock (or might have just locked) and an estimated march/april delivery. Here in Northern California I negotiated a 12% discount off of sticker for a 2020 4S. Despite that, I ordered this 2021 for March delivery because of the specific options I wanted and cool color of the 2021.
Yesterday, I got a call out of the blue from one of the dealers I visited. The call was to inform me that they were having a “sale” on their existing 2020 Taycan inventory. I didn’t get into details, but I got the impression that the discounts were substantial. The dealer from where I placed my order also gave me a call asking if I wanted to cancel my order and take delivery on a Carmine Red 4S they just got in. Again, he offered me a huge discount, but I declined because the options weren’t meeting my desires, though I love the color. The problem with 2020's is they are technically a model-year old at this point. I see! I don't work at a Porsche dealership so I don't have 100% visibility, but from what I can tell, they are being extra incentivized to move as much Taycan inventory as possible before EOY (this will drive 2021 allocations, etc..).Yesterday, I got a call out of the blue from one of the dealers I visited.
