Hi folks - looking for an informed answer to a simple question...... I know OPENING sunroofs have drains - because they are just a push fit to allow them to open ....

but if fixed sunroofs are glued in place like a windscreen - are they? ..... do they need drains too?

to be specific - are Porsche fixed (un-opening) sunroofs fitted with drains?

cheers

Thanks T - That was my understanding - I wonder why UK OPCs are charging a lot of money for checking and cleaning taycan sunroof drains then? ;)
...yep, even when you don't have the pano roof!

Nope - no need. Water simply flows and drains across the rest of the car.

Perhaps the mountings in the panoramic roof for the roof bars collect water but I somehow doubt it.

Suspect a cut and paste gaff from other Porsche models with actual sunroofs.

Actually that is one of the items that I was quoted for the two year, 30k km service! My SA could not show me the drains and quickly revised the service quote!

Cheers Peter - I suspect the better informed we are as a community, and the more we can challenge the validity misquoted prices - the more realistic the OPCs might be in pricing - we can but hope!
