I think this happened because the driver didn’t understand the automatic hold function on inclines.

the car suddenly locks on the incline and then maybe a few attempts to disengage the hold with the gas pedal lead to this monstrosity.

Any other ideas?

That post on the drive happened in the UK and the guy had only just picked up the car.
I once read his explanation.

He was bending to do something (like get the garage fob out of the glove box or something) then pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.

A security camera captured it due to the movement. Pretty common for shared driveways.

So ... here's the scoop from someone who says they are from the area.
Driver took delivery of car 2 hrs prior to this episode.
Was at friends house to show it to them.
Had the car in brake 'hold'.
Reached to back seat to grab an item and hit the accelerator by accident while twisting around to turn back.
Being new to the car's power, did not react in time.

Man, I just keep looking at the image of the deformed pole and wall - let alone lifting a Macan onto your roof!! - and think what the heck kind of speed was this person doing on impact - out of control!

I don't see what the problem is. She managed to park her car in a tight spot without scraping the side.

This happened in Madrid and apparently because of excess speed the lady lost control of her Taycan and lifted her own Macan parked on the street, onto her roof and stopped when she crashed into a wall opposite her house. Fortunately no other cars or bystanders were hit by the lady.
I am aware that car insurance policies in Spain do not cover accidents that happen to involve another vehicle owned by the party guilty of said accident. Ask me how I know … my son crashed into my first AMG while reversing with his first car !
