Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before.....

Rear door handle extends on unlock and door actually locks and unlocks normally.
But the handle does not retract when you press the lock button on the keyfob.
You can push it back in manually (with a bit of force).

And the door opens and closes normally using the inside handle - although the outside handle stays extended.

Not got Comfort Access.

Though it was frozen as it was very cold last night and car was covered in ice and snow, but it's thawed now and problem persists.

Probs a trip to the dealer, but thought I would mention it here first.

Can work round quite easily by only unlocking the drivers door (1 press) and then reaching across to open passenger door if needed (no kids).

Most odd.

What happens when you drive off with it extended - does it retract then?

Took it into the dealers today.

Looks like a door handle motor fault. First one they have seen.

New part ordered from Germany and going in Early Jan for replacement.
Needed a recall job anyway apparently. So both being done together.

I did ask and she said she would need to look it up..... I was then rushing and forgot to ask her.

Comfort access is standard on all models.

No worries. I checked my VIN and there is no active recall per se so it's probably a campaign rather than a recall. Perhaps it's your range optimization a la GTS!

I have emailed them to ask.
Will update when I find out.

Not in the UK.

A lot of people don't want it because of relay thefts.

Too right!
Each to their own, but I’ll never deliberately spec it. The one time I forget to put my key in the pouch / tin etc
