Anyone considering the EV Macan coming in 2024? I had one of the first Macan's when the gas version came out years ago, but sold it just a few months after (didn't really like the SUV feel). That being said, the EV Macan Turbo will potentially have as-much HP/TQ (possibly more) then the Taycan Turbo - at a much lower cost. Also probably some new features/tech compared to my 2021 Taycan (or any 2020-2024 Taycan).

I still have a gas Macan and no need to replace it for what I use it for (work trips or occasionally hauling something bigger). It just sits for weeks at time as it is. I doubt it’s worth $20k right now. No reason for me to replace it with something more expensive (and less usable since the Macan does work road trips and I don’t want to use public charging).

My wife hates SUVs, so we won’t be replacing the Taycan with it. I’m trying to convince her to look at the electric 718 when that comes out. I’m not sure she’ll give up her massage seats though.

I’m on a wait list for a replacement for my wife’s car. She absolutely loved her 2017 Macan GTS, but gas stations were too cumbersome for her, lol. Went to the original Audi etron suv and now a Q4 etron, due to the lack of a Porsche option. She likes the ride height of an SUV, and loved the look and feel of a Porsche. So, likely not a turbo as she won’t care about speed, but an S, optioned up will likely be the way we go. Honestly don’t love the fast back roofline of the prototypes much, I prefer a more squared off look, but will wait to judge when production photos emerge.

I won’t be replacing my Taycan for it though, still prefer the lower slung feel, at least until my back tells me otherwise.

No I would not consider generation 1 of Macan EV. After all the bugs in the Taycan, I will not jump straight to a completely new platform from the VW group. I think they have clearly demonstrated their capability on both the VW ID range and especially Tayan gen 1. That would be like jumping from the ashes into the fire!

We would like to have a car that is easier to get in and out of, compared with the Taycan, but it will not have a Porsche badge on the front, for sure!

My wife recently switched to Q8 etron, she particularly likes the easier to get in/out aspect, and overall (after mourning the lack of consistent, intuitive, and "just works" features of Model S, which were her last 2 cars) she likes the car a lot. She was not crazy about the ICE Macan, nor the ICE Cayenne. Audi still a VWAG product though, the phone app and its reliability makes the Porsche app look great, neither compares to Tesla though.

I had the Macan GTS before my Taycan , I loved it, I am certainly considering it (but I might buy a yacht as Ive just retired) the Taycan might be the last good car I own due to the costs of boat ownership, but the access in and out of the Taycan is a bit of a drag , about the only negative I have about this fantastic car.

We’ve owned 3 Macans prior to my Taycan and the wife‘s Model Y Performance. The EV Macan is a future consideration to replace the MYP mostly due to the nicer interior but as much as my wife liked her previous Macans she absolutely loves the MYP and frankly it performs as well as our previous Macan GTS and has much better in car tech/app. One plus is the Macan EV will eventually have a NACS port. Kind of wish it had regen paddles and one pedal driving though.

My early adoption days are one and done. I will replace my Taycan and ICE SUV at some point. When I do, it will be with one vehicle. When this occurs reliability will be my first priority, Gen 1 of any EV is out of the question, especially from VWAG at this point.

We had an ICE Cayenne earlier and my wife loved that one. After two hip replacements it was so much easier to get in/out of. Our son had a Range Rover Sport earlier and she loved that as well. He didn’t like it with all the gremlins though. Lovely car for long trips, but endless issues. Not likely changing to a RR EV either.

Scandinavian is so right.
I always got 1st gen before but I won’t do it anymore for EV cars.
My dealer already proposed me to purchase the new macan but we’ll wait.
I’ll test it but I’ll see what the refreshed version will bring when all the gremlins are gone.
I don’t have any problems for the moment with the Taycan but I still travel with a battery charger, have to reboot sometimes the pcm,…
Yesterday the car couldn’t find a ionity and wanted us to go to a Porsche dealer to charge at 3am, pfff

Your dealer is already taking orders for the Macan?

In Belgium, it’s more than a month that you can order.
But like I did for the Taycan, it’s just to block your place in the list for a base, 4S or Turbo and then you will be able to get the options you want later.

I sort of agree with you, but with a caveat. I plan to purchase my wife's Lexus RX hybrid off lease in March and hold onto it until I get clarity about the Macan EV, AND about access to the Tesla SuC network. Might end up keeping it until 2025, but the Macan EV is a contender in my mind.

I love driving my Taycan and would love to have another Porsche in the garage.

I’ll keep Taycan for few more years, but i’m looking for SUV that’s easier to go in/out.
Macan looks fine, but in three years who knows what will happen on the market, so i’m not making any serious plans.
It’s an amazing vehicle; for me still the best looking & driving experiences so far, that’s why i’ll extend warranty for another three years in September 2024.
