Given that this is the first production year for the Taycan, what are everyone's thoughts on the extended warranty?

For anyone that purchased it, feel free to post how much you were able to negotiate it down.

I ordered directly with the car a 2 year extension (4 years altogether), I got no rebate on it (2'800€ with VAT) but my sales rep made me a very good rebate on the car and accessories.

Is Schweiz warranty two years initially? I would expect 3

8 Years on the battery in the uk. What you guys get in Europe?
I got the 8 years or 160 k km on battery but general warranty is only 2 years. UK seems more competitive market.

8 yr / 80K - $3183.00 (35% of what the dealer quoted)
10 yr / 100K - $4206.00 (40% of what the dealer quoted)

Tire/Wheel with cosmetic:
7 years - $1886.00 (22.45/month)
6 years - $1741.00 (24.18/month)

4 years - $1524.00(31.75/month)

3 years - $1368.00 (42.33/month)

We are on the fence, but may get the tire/wheel coverage. I feel like the painted mission E wheels may be expensive to repair if they get curb rash? Or should any wheel repair place be able to repair them for a few hundred $$?

Tire & wheel protection from Porsche has about a thousand loopholes they will use to avoid replacing your tires and wheels. Sure, they will buff them, patch them, etc.. but the kind of damage that needs to happen for Porsche to replace the wheels is probably from an accident and getting covered by insurance anyway.

Just my 2 cents, your mileage may vary and the warranty may have improved since I last saw it.

That is what I was thinking. How expensive should I assume fixing cosmetic on painted mission e wheels would be?

Not expensive, maybe $100 US for normal curb rash. Maybe a little more for painted. Obviously don't let the dealership do it, find a good wheel shop and they'll do a bang up job for half the price.

oh, thats incredibly cheap. I figured it would be worse since the painted mission E are both black and color (frozen blue in my case)
Maybe a bit more for painted but they can get the exact paint and it's an easy job. You can also just get the paint and do minor scratches yourself, depending on your level of OCD.

Obviously you'll pay twice as much (or more) from a dealership but a decent wheel shop will do a bang up job.

Having bent a few Tesla wheels from when they actually sold coverage (for about 10 minutes back when they first started selling Model S cars), I can say that the wheel/tire coverage paid off gigantically.

If you're not in a state where you experience "winter", or "frost heaves" (and their cousin the "hell hole"), bent rims may not be something you've experienced. But a single wheel replacement, in general, pays for the coverage.

It's hard to fix a really bent wheel, though...and many shops won't do it if the wheel is painted.
