Upgrade to the Connect services…

see video at

I received an email letter this morning detailing procedure because we must input our credential and PIN as well. Apparently many tries may be needed for all the online services to activate :headbang: They really are amateurs when it comes to OTA. Expecting the worst… hope it does not brick too many cars !
some information from Porsche regarding this ODP backend migration:

note, that only MY20+21 were affected.

That is exactly what the email said which was send to customers.
Why are you highlighting the word "backend"?
Still trying to get your credits here, aren't you?
Why did you get an OTA-update (ONA5) then if it was just a "backend migration"?
ONA5 is an OTA-update especially to improve connect services.
Please explain as you're the experienced IT-engineer here or just let it rest.
Thank you.

Because it was a backend (Porsche servers) not a client (cars) migration. Isn't it ? 😅

Porsche Taycan First real OTA update for the Taycan 2020 and 2021 happening April 27th… 1652967489885

and the same evening Porsche had server (backend) problems, after my car was in the underground park.

so there must be a relation between my OTA and Porsche's backend, right?

😂

It was a backend migration and some cars got an update as well (ONA5, that's an OTA-update).
Please read the entire topic if you don't know to what you are replying to.

Correct (I'll just play along).
It means you can't download the update if:
-Porsche has backend problems.
-You are in an underground carpark and there's no proper signal.

But that wasn't my point.
Obviously you don't get it or you're just plain ignorant.
I'll just leave it as it is.

Anyway, thanks for sharing as it's just nice to see the OTA-updates are real.
Now let's hope these updates improve our cars.

Seriously, it is somebody who can't make the difference between a server and a client who tells me that ... 🤔

??
Server: Porsche server
Client: the car (with the ONA5 update).
Why do you think I can't tell the difference?

Indeed, I wrote it above ...
But you didn't read the entire topic, did you?
In short:
-The ONA5 is an update for the car (not all cars get this though).
-Porsche updated their server to improve the stability.
And that's all there is to it.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear (but I stated that through the entire topic, that's why you should read it before replying).

So to sum up :
  1. We received an email stated it will be an update of Porsche servers during the night of the 27/4.
  2. Somebody opened this thread and interpreted that as an OTA-update.
  3. Some people included me said it was clear it wasn't
  4. 27/4 came : It was not finally an OTA-update.
  5. In the meantime ONA5 came AFTER to some cars (not mine). Fine. But there is absolutely no proof that it's part of the backed migration stated in the email. (And please don't tell me it is because the email speaks about service improvement. In this case all the OTA updates during 10y can be considered as part of it ...)
(and please spare us your sufficient tone of lesson giver ...)

Who's "us"?
You're just too proud to admit I was right in the first place and now you're trying to find excuses why I wasn't, just like rs38.
That's ok with me but don't expect a polite answer to your "tone" in your own replies..
We're talking in circles here and we won't agree either so let it rest, just like I asked before.

Ok, back on topic.

By "us" I meant of course the members of this forum. So can you please stop your ad hominem attacks and be factual on the topic please ?

So you are a representative of all the members of this forum all of a sudden?
Sorry, I didn't know that.
Are you familiar with the phrase "rhetorical question"?

So can you please stop your ad hominem attacks and be factual?
What about yourself?
I've been factual all along this topic.
My assumptions became facts, how's that for "factual"?
I know this doesn't suit you now according to your replies.
We just don't agree, that's all.
Get over it.

Ok, back on topic.

Ok, back on topic.
So why do you continue with your ad hominem attacks and your cheap psychology ?

My assumptions became facts, how's that for "factual"?
Where are the irrefutable proofs ? I'm still waiting for them ...
