I can't seem to find a thread that encompasses everything needed to install a proper 14-50 outlet.

To first answer the question - yes, I am 100% having a certified electrician install it and do everything to code. That being said, I've seen corners cut in any profession. My goal is to come up with the list of parts so someone can just order and hand to their electrician to install.

1) Receptacle - not even a question. Buy a Hubbell, known to most electricians as the best.
https://www.hubbell.com/wiringdevic...ces/Industrial-Receptacles/HBL9450A/p/1636632

You can find it on eBay, Amazon, toro.com, etc.

If you really want to save a few bucks, buy a Bryant:

2) Electrical Box (for outside of wall install). You can go 4"x4"x2 1/8" depth:
https://www.zoro.com/raco-electrical-box-square-4-x-4-x-2-303-cu-in-2-gang-232/i/G2248626/

with cover (note this cover fits the Hubbell BUT you need to drill the holes for the screws)
https://www.zoro.com/raco-electrical-box-cover-30-60a-receptacle-813c/i/G2297066/

or 4 - 11/16" x 4 - 11/16" x 2 1/8" depth:
https://www.zoro.com/raco-electrical-box-square-4-1116-2-gang-257/i/G0836972/

with cover: (note this cover fits the box but you need extended screws to attach it to the box. The Hubbell fits fine and no extra drilling for screws needed)
https://www.zoro.com/raco-electrical-box-cover-30-60a-receptacle-888/i/G3275903/

Note not all covers will work. The Hubbell is oversized and is 2.44" opening and calls for a 2.48" opening. Both covers apparently work, even though one says 2.47" opening (since the actual size is 2.44" of the Hubbell).

If you want an outlet cover (not needed if not installed in drywall), you can purchase this:

3) Ground the metal box! I am NOT sure what to do here, but I've seen this recommended with a green ground screw:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08X2JS6XJ/
https://www.amazon.com/Gardner-Bender-GGS-1032HCN-Hex-Head-Ground/dp/B000NCWOVS/

If you use a pigtail, I hear you'll want a 10 AWG wire, but all I could find is a 12 AWG wire:
https://www.zoro.com/raco-grounding-pigtail-8-in-996/i/G2969513/

I plan to use 6 AWG wire (or maybe 4 AWG to upsize) and a 50 AMP breaker for code.

Also, it is good to note the position of the ground plug, whether you want to do an upside or not install.

The PMCC Docking Station Cabinet maxes out right around 5", so you'll want the 4"x4" box to be safe and have some room for install.

I plan on installing my chargers first, then having the electrician come and position the receptacle perfectly.

My electrician just installed my outlet. I used Bryant 9450FR ($46 at my local Grainger store) along with Hubbell SS701. They fit together great and electrician was happy with the easy install. Here are a couple of photos.

Two additions. If you have to surface mount your cable in the garage most codes will require an armored cable not Romex unless in conduit. A jacketed cable is nice and looks better. Also if using Porsche's overpriced cabinet try to ensure you mount it to a stud and not just on drywall.
