Gateway Control Unit Replacement

I just got a message from Porsche (in app) that states that they would like to replace the Gateway Control Unit in my 2024 Tacan GTS. Anyone know why this is about and what problem they are trying to solve?

It is the router for the internal car's various internal network (often called buses). So its a comms related component.

Thanks. I'm not keen on having seats and center console removed. Nothing ever gets put back the way it was from the factory. Has anyone experienced an issue with the unit? What are the symptoms. I subscribe to the theory that if it isn't broken, don't fix it.
