One question, as only charger for your Taycan or do you have an AC charger as well? as for DC charging you won't be able to use the timers.

unlikely in the US for “at home“ - it would be very very rare for any residential location to have 3 phase power.

Can you really get so much power to your house in the UK? That charger would take close to 80 amps on a three phase connection.

Yup, got 3 phase, 100 amp each phase.

Because he wants to be able to make more than one hundred mile trip in a day and spend the time in between in the comfort of his home, not a parking lot.

It’s a wild extravagance. But you asked why, and there it is. If you meant ‘he shouldn’t,’ I just can’t agree. Louv pioneered the Taycan Grand Tour and now someone may pioneer at-home Taycan DC charging.

How can you know what is enough until you know what is too much?

Will DC charging not stop once the battery is full?

Yes, DC charging will stop when the battery is full or when you unplug. There is no other setting to stop DC Fast Charging.

Timers and Profiles ONLY work with AC charging. Porsche assumed that if you are DC Fast charging you: 1) Aren't home, 2) Want as much charge as you can get, as fast as possible 3) Will probably get in the car and continue the journey after DC Fast charging.
