Has anyone succeeded in removing any components from the center console?

I am trying to route a Magsafe charger cable from the front of the console to the charging ports next to the 12v socket. Removing the passenger side panel of the console far enough to expose the console frame was easy enough with no special tools. I would like to be able to remove ONE of the following components:

1) The cup holder in front of the console lid.
2) The end cap on the console that frames the rear ventilation ports and rear seat heating switches.
3) The "panel" inside the console compartment where the 12v socket and USB ports are mounted.
4) Just the small panel where the two USB ports are mounted.

It seems that the small panel where the 12v socket is mounted should be easy to remove in case the socket needed to be replaced. I can't imagine having to tear down the entire console to replace the 12v socket.

I just charge via a cable plugged into the rear seat USB. It's easy and offer a ridiculous rate of charge speed for iPhones. (15%-70% charge in ~10-12 minutes)
