I'm curious what would make you believe that yet another all-new model from a different manufacturer is likely to be any more reliable than what you’ve experienced with your existing first-year model?
BMW have more experience producing EVs and they are generally quite reliable, even the new models.
They started making the i3 in 2013.

And I think its common knowledge nowadays that the Taycan has a lot of reliability issues.

Latest UK reliability survey (Feb 2025). The 3 BMW models are in the top 6.

I know I personally don’t want another module (band aid fix) I want a new battery.

I've yet to receive any letter or information or anything about any recalls concerning my car and it's battery. Also no recent software updates other than the odd map changes. It's late(ish) MY23 production so maybe that means I'm the last to be informed.....?

We have a 2023 Mini Cooper SE that had a recall similar to Porsche (ARB7 ?). The recall letter stated not to charge more than 80% and to not park in your home garage or parking structure. With the Mini SE, there is no way to automatically stop the charging at 80%. Without intervention, the car will charge to 100% and there is no option in the app or car itself to stop charging at a specific percentage.

Other than that, no other recalls and it is definitely easier to park than our Cross Turismo..

The iX3 is a new/revised model - first-year models are generally a shaky bet, regardless of manufacturer...
I generally avoid first-year models of any car for this reason.

I broke this no-first-year rule with the Taycan (I thought I *might* be safe with a later production date) and wish I hadn't. In my case getting a 2nd year Taycan likely wouldn't have changed the number of recalls I've had to get done.

I'm still happy with the Taycan, but I certainly won't be getting the first year production of future models again.

Indeed - my neighbors BMW iX is at the dealership (parked away from other vehicles) because its a fire risk. Hes been driving an i4 for 2 months now

This sounds like the OP's Taycan was being monitored OTA by PCNA (not the yet-to-be released in-car monitoring SW). They determined it has a bad module and under ARB5 would like the OP to have that module replaced. It's not a whole new battery. I understand module replacement has already occurred at dealers in the USA, sometimes on site, sometimes crate the whole battery and send somewhere else to repair.

No I do not think this is a remote OTA trigger ... not for a 2020 taycan .... or not without a software update as there is no remote monitoring capability.

In my case Porsche told me that I do not have any remote monitoring - and also got this same email with a list of recalls as noted above in post #14 - (mine is also a 2020 Taycan) - and as posted elsewhere on here they initially took in my car in December to do the work originally - only for two weeks to go by then have PCNA to then inform the dealer that they did not have the parts and or service tech available and my car should be returned to me.

I think this is simply a case of PCNA catching up with service techs and or parts - and yes I agree this is a module replacement approach - unless the number of modules are so high as to warrant a full pack.

Guys, it’s not all bad news here. I am in USA, Florida. My dealer gets battery cells quickly and can do a full R&R in about 24 hrs. Porsche is indeed working on the supply chain issues. At the end of the repair, you get a fully tested practically new battery / with warrenty.

I will be posting a comprehensive video soon on the process. It’s really simple compared to fixing ICE engine.

24 hours seem far to short time for a module replacement. Is this for a complete battery pack exchange perhaps?

Just to seal and let the seal dry out plus then pressure test the battery will take more time than 24 hours!

I'm not saying that the Taycan doesn't have problems, but I note that Porsche started making EVs in 2013 also (Panamera E-Hybrid) and had some 7-8 years experience working with high-voltage traction batteries in vehicles prior to the first BEV Taycan arriving at dealerships in late 2019.

I also got the OTA software update yesterday. The notes indicate enhanced monitoring by Porsche. Easy installation
