I remember reading an article within the past week about a Porsche model (think Cayenne) getting a new PCM version with an interface similar to the Taycan.

It mentioned the new PCM will be Android Auto compatible...

I can't find that article anymore, but found this about the 2022 911:

https://www.thecarconnection.com/news/1131793_2022-porsche-911-costs-2-000-more-starts-at-102-550

  1. Is it bad auto journalism or Porsche really giving in?
  2. Any chance our existing cars can get it with OTA updates?

I'm certain this is right; the other VW group cars that clearly use the same "car computer" (like the ID.3 and ID.4) support Android Auto.

Whether it will be made available on older cars...we can hope, but I think it's probably unlikely.
