Is it just me or is “GTS Sport Turismo“ actually a ridiculous name?

Don‘t get me wrong: I love the car. It is my favorite out of the entire Taycan line-up (so much so that I immediately ordered one at launch), but I still struggle with the name:

“GTS Sport Turismo” or if you spell it out: Gran Turismo Sport Sport Turismo

Really, Porsche, really?

I mean, Porsche is not very inventive with their names

Trim levels are (sometimes):
2, 2s, 4, 4s, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S, Turbo GT.

There's a car named Carrera GT which sounds like a trim level of the 911.

It's less confusing than Audi that has an e-tron which is a SUV and an e-tron gt (which is not a SUV, but it sounds like the trim level of the SUV).

Sometimes it sounds like these names were put in there as an afterthought.

They did it with the Panamera and we didn't bat an eyelid...AND Sport (or Cross ) Turismo doesn't appear in the badging on the car so looks like they indeed thought about it.

I might option the badge delete if that were the case…
Do they put the “Sport Turismo” on the badge? I would expect that badge to just read “Taycan GTS”. Regardless, I had already ordered the car de-badged.

No they don’t but you can de-badge (Deletion of Model Designation) the car i.e. remove Taycan GTS (or whatever model you have).

That name was developed at Porsche in their Department of Redundancy Department.
