Is there a Porsche Server issue ongoing Feb 8 2023? Apple/Spotify/OnlineRadio not connecting

Noticed yesterday evening heading out to eat that Apple Music & Podcasts, Spotify and Online Radio access were all greyed out and unreachable.

Tested access to Apple Music with my iPhone instead of the PCM app via CarPlay and no prob whatsoever so not an Apple Server issue per se but more likely Porsche end related. Has stayed this way all through today Feb 8th and a chat with the SA at Porsche North Houston revealed the many customers were calling in with the same issue - others seeing this?

Hopefully they get it sorted soon!

I've seen this happen a few times.

I have theories:

- Maybe the server end is borked
- Maybe the LTE bandwidth use is maxed out for the month?

I've seen this happen a few times.

I have theories:

- Maybe the server end is borked
- Maybe the LTE bandwidth use is maxed out for the month?
First option I can believe but. man, if it’s 2nd option that would be beyond lame!!!

Yes my love-hate relationship with PCM continues! Feel like the last two weeks it has been buggy with either:

Playing a song for 3 seconds on Apple Music and then stopping and asking me to choose a song
Not connecting
Being greyed out and asking me to log in yet again

Hey Derek - curious - is your car's SIM attached to Verizon too i.e. wondered if Verizon has the contract for all of Texas with Porsche?

Day 3 now with no in-car PCM online access to Apple Music/Podcasts, not Spotify nor Online Radio - all services greyed out - can revert back to CarPlay to get to Apple Music but prefer having that off - becoming annoying now :)!

Need to ping the SA again and see if he has any insight.

Yep - first thing you check right :) No, every other HW/SW option in the car is working 100% - just access to the online services via the specific PCM apps is what is non-operational right now - SA said he'll know more tomorrow so apparently a note has ben sent in!

I rebooted the PCM with the 2-finger salute and everything back exactly as it was however, on inspecting the embedded SIM card 'status' it shows no signal strength at all! I am suspecting that the prior image of 4 out of 5 bars wa possibly a 'cached' image and not reporting correctly. I still have the green light above and everything else in the car is working 100%.

SA just informed me that he was informed that it is not a 'car side' issue - he has 4 clients with the same issue presumably all Houston based - seems like no one in Austin, Dallas etc are reporting an outage so possibly a sub-regional carrier issue maybe i.e. local Verizon conms or do Porsche have regional based servers pushing data out to cars?

Bit of a mystery right now!

I think you are all lucky, I am in China, but the server is in Germany, except for the reasons caused by network buffering, so my PCM system is like an old Android phone:CWL:, if compared with other electric cars, it is like the difference between Android and IOS,but i think this is Taycan!

There was definitely something going on with Porsche or 3rd party providers here in Houston TX but this AM everything back to normal after loosing online service content (Apple Music, Podcasts, Spotify, Online Radio, Weather) for almost 3 days.

If my SA provides more info I'll share but nice to have it back at least!

This thing is killing me. As much as I want to use the built in PCM Apple Music integration I have to resort to my CarPlay. I don’t even know how others ditching CarPlay can live with pcm only.

Hmmm - what appeared to be a recovery early AM yesterday has now reverted to still no online services and now even the (wireless) CarPlay connection has an issue - will try reattaching phone and maybe wired CarPlay later today … becoming a right pain / all started after last dealership visit and campaign update so will be on SA’s case Monday if still s problem.

Yeah online radio back this AM but Apple Music/Podcasts not - literally various elements have been pinging on and off over last 2 days - hoping its simply ongoing server updates or maintenance but who knows!

All working perfectly this AM Feb 13th - looks like it might indeed have been server maintenance/updates but no confirmation from S.A. as yet.
