There were a couple of threads about torque and gear ratios and their effect on performance which I think were quite useful though a little heated. Performance here means acceleration and speed, not handling. Taycan's handling is already superior to everyone else.
Just my opinion, the only practical approach is not fiddling with gear ratios but improving the power to weight ratio. Up the horsepower of the motors and shed a few pounds.
Here's a table extracted from the US websites. I think the real competitor to the Taycan is the Plaid. The e-Tron is a Taycan on a budget and Lucid and EQS are lux cruisers. The Plaid is just about power but handles like a pig. I don't need a car that can do 200 mph. Given its sporty heritage the goal for the Taycan should be to get around the Nürburgring faster than the Plaid. Just my opinion. And hopefully this trickles down to the lesser models.
* the Taycan lap time was in a Turbo . The Turbo has 235 less horsepower than the Plaid and is only 12 seconds off its time due to its better handling.
