It's happened on every plug in vehicle that I have ever owned. Nobody learns from others (except Hyundai), apparently.

Bugs are expected. What makes a difference is a manufacturer's ability and desire to fix bugs fast.
Ford fixed the bug in just one month (Feb 3rd) and made an update available for cars produced before that day.
