Question regarding SiriusXM (of which, I have had many issues since getting my car in Sept 2020):

When car was first purchased, scrolling through the SXM channels, you could see what song/artist was playing at that moment. That functionality went away with the one and only major software update in 2021 that we've had for MY'20 cars.
Question: does the new version correct this problem?

Someone else asked above, but since they changed the software in '21, every single time I turn on the car, it says "Check Sirius XM antennae.
Question: Has this been resolved?

Since the software change in '21, it can take upwards of 30 seconds or more for SXM stations to play when you turn on the car (it could be a function of the antennae issue, if that truly was an issue and not simply a stupid message that didn't need to appear).
Question: Does SXM simply start with the car now?


Question for Apple Music:
I have noticed, when playing my playlists or previously played songs, or even radio stations, it plays the item one below the one I click on. For example, if there was 3 items on the screen, and I clicked the one on top, it would play the middle one. Very annoying.
Question: Has this been fixed?

Can I please ask- anyone with the update that uses Homelink, does the homelink window disappear automatically when you leave the geofence area? It always drives me mad that you have to manually shut the pop up window even once you opened the gate and driven off down the road.

I LOVE Auto-Regen! Its my favorite feature on the car!

I like it too, unfortunately every time I go over a speed bump, a railroad track, or sometimes just driving down the road, it shuts off and says it isn’t available. Dealer had it for six days, they said it‘s acting as it should, I’m dubious, at best. I’ve given up.

It does on mine too, but I have to use the x to close it because I am backing up as I leave my garage and it interferes with parking assist/surround view/rear camera. When I hit the x, the pop-up closes and the cameras come back on.

ive not had that experience but I only use it on interstate highways and it adapts when I am cut off which I really like.

We haven’t road tripped it yet, (August 19th to the Upper Florida Keys will be our first), it’ll be interesting how it behaves on the interstate/turnpike. We have only driven it in the city with a few short drives on the interstate….it’ll be a good litmus test.

A few more findings:

• Favorites have been moved from the top menu (always present in Music) to a "source" peer to Apple Music, Podcasts, Sirius and the like. It's depicted by a star icon and it has playback controls which can be used to skip back/forth through the favorites list. The "List" top level menu item performs the functionality the old Favorites menu item did, but only when the favorites source is active.

Does this mean that programming a joker key to advance to the next station/track now allows you to cycle through favorites if that is the selected “source”? If so that’s a big deal Porsche drivers have been waiting for.

I figured I'd start a fresh thread for us to share findings on the new software.

So far things I've noticed:

• Apple Music sparks right up and works a lot more reliably. This is -without- the wifi hotspot feature, which expired for me and I didn't renew.
• Apple Podcasts are also substantially more reliable. There were specific shows that the old version flatly refused to play; they now work well.
• The park assist beeptone is slightly different now.
• I checked out the charger search and filtered to 100kWh+ - found an EVSlow charger in Murphy TX that I didn't know existed.

Things I haven't yet checked, but I expect probably work now:

• Does dynamic lighting now work with SiriusXM and Carplay?
• Are trip "calculation thresholds" increased? Can I set a trip from Frisco TX to Flagstaff now and have it work rather than time out?

So far the overall responsiveness and fixes are making me quite happy indeed.

Thanks to DerekS for pointing me to Porsche McKinney to get my PCM update. I booked it today for the next day and was told they've done a couple already and it takes a day and a half. Plano Porsche (their parent satellite company) told me that they don't have it and no timeline to get it yet and never mentioned their sister property is doing it today. I will provide feedback on what I've seen from my '22 (November '21 delivery) RWD after its done.

I was mistaken on a couple bugs!

• It does indeed retain recup between modes, but only in "auto."
• Dynamic lighting does work on talk show content; you just have to get past the commercials to the actual content for it to kick in.

Do you know if for those who didn't spec the 4 zone air conditioning we can finally setup the body lower part air flow as it is written in the configurator ?

Maybe I'm late to the party but I just realized that all icons can be rearranged. I also am not a fan of the overly colorful display. Didn't see the need to have the same left bar icons repeated in the default view. Simply long press on an icon and the option to rearrange presents itself.

Just as a FYI – that's not a new feature. All versions of the Taycan PCM has allowed that.

I also am not a fan of the overly colorful display.

I feel like we're all so eager to have a fast and stable PCM that we'll take the UI changes as a necessary compromise.

The source peer can also be rearranged. The top 4 appear across the top.

Just as a FYI – that's not a new feature. All versions of the Taycan PCM has allowed that.
