ANA5 Driver's seat wiring harness

May 3, 2022 — A Porsche Taycan recall involves more than 9,500 model year 2020-2021 Taycans with front driver and passenger seat wire harnesses may be damaged from using the horizontal seat adjustments.

A damaged front seat wire harness can deactivate the Taycan airbags.

Porsche learned about several Taycan seat adjustment complaints that were caused by the fabric sheath getting caught in the seat adjustment mechanism.

Porsche began monitoring Taycan complaints but didn't find any complaints about damaged wire harnesses.

But between January and April 2022, Porsche learned of three complaints about damaged wire harnesses and illuminated airbag warning lights in Taycans outside the U.S., convincing the automaker to issue the recall.

Taycan occupants may notice problems with the front seat adjustments or hear strange noise when adjusting the seats. A driver will know the airbags are affected if they see an illuminated red airbag warning light.

Porsche dealers will inspect the the seat wire harnesses for damage and textile fabric tape will be added to further secure the harnesses under the seats and help prevent damage to the harnesses when adjusting the seats.

Porsche Taycan recall notices are expected to be mailed June 24, 2022, but until then Taycan owners with questions should call 800-767-7243.

The Porsche Taycan seat wire harness recall number is ANA5.

As of today my local dealer currently has no information on how to remedy this issue.

Maybe you are right, maybe not even the dealer knows. Maybe Porsche knows, maybe they think they know… At this point it is so complicated and convoluted, all I know that they are continually updating software/firmware in the hope that they squash bugs. Results vary due to so many combinations possible …

Always have serviced every car I own at the official dealer, and we had our E34 M5 for almost twenty years. What I am trying to express is not that they don’t try. It is just that the software/firmware is so complex and has so many variables, that it is inherently weak and unstable and every time they try to improve something, they inadvertently can throw something else, for a few of us, into disarray.

Is there any way to know exactly which recall updates (especially software) that have been applied to a newly delivered car?
My Taycan was built January 2022, but I received it earlier this month, so I want to know if I should worry about recalls that happened in this timeframe.

If you were to call 1-800-PORSCHE, we could look into it. Any open recalls for your specific vehicle are displayed to us prominently in several of our tools, and should actually be on your My Porsche account main page, just above the picture of your Taycan. In addition, if you feel that other campaigns are necessary for your Taycan, we can assess that and determine the best path forward for you.

Please detail ANA6 when information is available. It's about blacking out PCM screens and is a stop-delivery on my car.
