The cable supplied with my car (MY23) will charge at 11kW - which I think means it must be a 3 phase cable (otherwise would max out at 7kW) - unless I am mistaken

Thank you for all these tips, they are good ones. I’ve got a 22 kW charger at home. It’s 100A max 240V that usually settles at 88A 230v.
But I’ve only seen a max of 11 kW public charger. Where were you finding the 22kw ones?

They are quite common, at least in Europe.. Anywhere that has 3-phase power, eg hotels and industrial sites, will often offer 22kW. A small number of those sites will have a tethered cable eg Tesla destination chargers, but most are sockets for which you need a 3-phase Type 2..

Here is a random bit of map from Chargemap, filtered on Type 2 socket >18kW, both the green and orange markers are 22kW. .
