Hello,

I was trying to engage the LC on a Taycan 4S and for some reason it wasn't available (there may be multiple reasons for this and it doesnt matter for this post), however it made wonder whether pressing both pedals (without triggering LC right away) for several seconds could do any damage to the car?

Thank you

+1 above - and apologies if a redundant and unhelpful point, but assume you were in Sports Plus mode, correct?

yes i was in Sport Plus, I am asking because it seems like a significant amount of power (staying full throttle in Sport Plus mode) for a few seconds...

Teslas have both a warning and a forced override of any throttle input if the brake pedal is being used. I just wanted to know if the Taycan has a similar system to prevent damage (bc there is certainly no warning when both pedals are pressed)

No, you’re not doing damage. The car knows you have both pedals pressed.

It doesn’t push any current to the motors while you do so. Otherwise, one would feel the car tries to go forward (same as on the ICE).

actually, in a couple attempts where the LC wouldn't engage it did feel when partially releasing the brake (and still having the throttle down) that the car was starting (and actually did) roll forward a bit... one of the reasons why I wanted to make this post and ask you guys, it got me concerned although you would think that Porsche thought of this lol

Do you have a source for this? My experience has been that it does apply some level of torque at the wheels, as I can feel the car move slightly from the stopped position once I fully depress the go pedal to initiate LC. But maybe I'm tricking myself into thinking that.

BTW, LC works in sport mode too, not just sport plus.

Are you sure that you are fully depressing and holding the brake before you bury the throttle pedal?

You’re definitely right on that, I feel it too. I’m just confident that the drive software was designed to deal with it properly since it’s such a major feature of the car. I like that little feeling of the car preloading itself.

Yup - wasn't trying to imply it could cause issues, just that it felt like at least a minimal amount of power was being applied to the preload the suspension somewhat.

+100 on this, and no it's not just you, the car definitely tries to inch forward (even with depressed brake pedal!)...

wdym you are "confident" we need sources and evidence from official channels (manual, etc.) that this is indeed the case and the car handles this correctly... otherwise it would be a big fucking deal if not!

Feel free to worry about it. I’ll happily continue to not worry. I don’t need proof that everything in the car was engineered so it will not tear itself apart. How many aircraft manuals have you read before you get on an airplane?
