He just didn't expected cars can stand still to give way to other drivers.
Just stupid or busy with something else...

First and foremost... we're glad to hear that you and the crasher are ok with no injuries...

Now for the crasher...

1. Young male most likely texting while driving
2. Young male so enamorred with the beuaty of the Taycan that he forgot to brake and rammed right the frick into your brand new supercar..

I would imagine that number one was the cause.

Got an email from my dealer and the damage is estimated at €18000, that includes new parts.
The problem is the availability of these parts so they are in backorder now.
I need a new rear lid, carbon parts and the black diffusor parts.

Lol, I asked if I could have the old carbon parts (they cost around €4000, lol) and diffusor plate so I can be creative later...
I was planning to add fins to the diffusor plate so now I have a free example, yee.

I can drive the 992 for probably another two weeks.
I do like that. :)

Meanwhile I installed the charger, 230V 10A max.

10 amps? Do you mean 10 killiwats?
No, 10A.
10Ax230V=2,3kW charging.
I only use a charger to top it off at 100%.
In one night that's around 23kWh.
I do most of the charging at work (11kW) or on the road.

Whoa 18K damages for what looked like barely any visible damage. Crazy.. Will insurance pay that?

I suspect they will.
Not my fault.
Also, I'll claim decrease of value, normaly that's 5-10% of the new-price...
Keep you guys updated of course. :)

Being rear ended is always the other person's fault in the USA at least.

Interesting fact about doing bodywork on the Taycan...
Porsche has to disconnect the 800V system, then of course re-connect it and then re-calibrate the rear sensors (in your case).
That runs close to $4K here.
Eventually the insurance companies will become aware of these (not usual) costs and adjust premiums accordingly.
Yuck!
