My turn to ask for help. :)

Am I missing a piece of trim here? Just forward of the the center console lid, driver’s side.

The clip and shape of the surroundings make me think there should be something here.
And, I think I see a similar piece on the passenger side. (3rd image)

Thanks Frank!

I guess I should get me one of those!
Best of luck getting the missing piece. Sometimes Porsche parts like that are part of a bigger assembly and you can’t just buy the piece you need. I hope that is not true in this case.

Since I don’t think that piece has EVER been in my car, I’m pretty sure my Service Advisor will order whatever he needs to order to fix it. Well, maybe not “a whole new car”, but a new center console? Maybe. I don’t expect to pay for it. (I might be delusional, too)

It looks like it's just a piece of plastic that's tamped into place. Maybe glued. Nothing fancy at all. I'm pretty sure it just pops off and on but I'm not going to test that for you or we'll both need new center consoles..

There’s a clip, right inside, which is what made me wonder... “hey... what goes into that clip?”

I feel so... incomplete...
My whole world view is shattered.
My identity as a Porsche Owner is now called into question.

But... I found two photos, one from January 25 (one month after purchase, and 4 days before I left on the crazy trip) and one from February 26 (mid crazy trip) when the piece isn't there.

I think, once I have this final piece of my life's puzzle, I can die a happy man. Later. Someday. after I enjoy the Completeness of my Taycan. Some.... day...

Did you take a good look under the seat with a flashlight to see if the part just fell off in transit and is sitting down there all alone.....

I thought about that. I guess it could have backed out (or never been correctly attached) and then when the center console cover was opened, it would fall out. Under the seat. Lost... and alone... sadness... screaming silently: "help me! I'm lost under the seat! HEY don't step on me!!! Ew, those shoes just do NOT go with those pants!!!"

SFEVER wins the prize, and saves Porsche from having to buy me a new car!

Guess what has been riding around, between the seat and the center console, for at least 8 months and 13,614 miles!?!?

Poor little fellow I’m sure he was traumatized being all alone under the seat away form his central console buddies

He’s home now. In his rightful place. With his friends. All is well in Taycanland.

Well, since you got this fix by reading it on the internet, it seems it is an OTA fix!
Hopefully future HW issues can be fixed OTA.
