Although the EV in questions is a Rivian R1T, the story of the interplay between the 12V battery and the vehicle state, coupled with the failure of the CCS locking mechanism was interesting.

FWIW, I was able to drive 3 miles past 0%. With the turtle symbol on and limited acceleration, I was still able to drive between 25-45mph to get to the nearest charger. Better than the Rivian it seems.

I'm surprised that they were able to deplete the 12v in only an hour.

And my experience with Porsche roadside last winter when I lost my key in the snow was quite good. Short wait times and frequent updates for the tow truck...which never made it because the highway got shut down... but this is another story...
