Take your guess from the email info and stuff like this postDoes anyone know if this update has any potential fixes or improvements for the 12V drain issue?
Wow - talking about joining the party late.Does everyone realize that these kinds of updates are all done over the air for Tesla cars? Why isn’t this update over the air?
Really, you have to take the car into the dealer and get a loaner? For software updates? What year is this....
Also, I have a ‘20 model year. So what does that mean? I never got this email.
Disappointing.....
Yeah, I heard the "updated" the batteries to reduce both the range and the charging times. There is a lawsuit over that and they are looking at making it a class action. Although some people like getting an updated with a fart sound, including the new farting horn, that really isn't the type of update I am looking for.Does everyone realize that these kinds of updates are all done over the air for Tesla cars?
Has to do with the computing architecture. Tesla started with a clean slate and designed the system from the ground up to be OTA capable. VAG did the same thing for the MEB based vehicles (ICAS based). For Porsche this will arrive with the PPE based cars, e.g. the Macan EV.Does everyone realize that these kinds of updates are all done over the air for Tesla cars? Why isn’t this update over the air?
Doss this mean the Taycan MY22 will have a major change? Sorry, I’m not familiar with all the VW terms.Has to do with the computing architecture. The current Taycan (and its sibling, the Audi e-tron GT) is built on the J1 platform. PPE stands for Premium Platform Electric and is the next generation platform jointly developed with Audi. It will debut in next year's Porsche Macan. As I understand it, the current generation Taycan will not get the computing architecture required for full OTA capabilities.Doss this mean the Taycan MY22 will have a major change? And the Macan will be a BEV? Well that’s interesting. I sure hope the Taycan on the J1 doesn’t become the bastard child. The current Taycan (and its sibling, the Audi e-tron GT) is built on the J1 platform. No more so than the 911 is the bastard child after the Taycan came out.I sure hope the Taycan on the J1 doesn’t become the bastard child.
