We asked to cancel and rather than letting us walk away, dealer offered a '22 allocation just about to lock. Interesting thing is my TYD account still shows both and the '22 is estimated to arrive before the '21.
Did the 22 completed production?

I'd like to know why some Americans seem concerned about losing the federal tax credit of $7500... Perhaps this is a personal-income situation issue? Because I have heard of nothing that is changing in terms of the $7500 credit being available indefinitely into the future (unless the infrastructure plan/bill being considered in Congress will do away with the tax credit for cars costing > $50k or $75k or $100k?)...
[Edit: I now notice the news in this article: https://www.autoweek.com/news/green...-pushes-for-dollar40000-cap-on-ev-tax-credit/ ... I was traveling much of the last two months and missed some news, evidently, but hopefully the House won't pass this and/or Biden won't sign it...]

My dealer rep placed an allocation order for a minimally-optioned 2021 CT4 (from my specs) that was "fixed" in July and exited production in early September, with "vehicle completion" done a couple of weeks later, as communicated to me -- with shipping from Emden expected mid-October and arrival in Davisville at the end of October. We'll see what happens in terms of the predicted times this month, but it seems promising that the Emden shipping date seems set now. Will the car be missing some things when it arrives (like a second key, or something else missing a chip), whether "essential" or not (the latter meaning release for sale and the former meaning more sitting at port or at the dealership)? The main options in my build that might require chips are ACC and 18-way seats (neither of which might be considered "essential" for release), but perhaps there are some standard chips missing... I also will be interested to hear if the dealership will consider dropping the price (and/or extending the warranty period) to account for a MY2021 car being sold at the end of 2021 (or even in 2022 if there are further delays before it can be driven away as a new car).

remains to be seen if this holds. keep us informed.

Hard to believe that any manufacturer would preface a new MY2022 order over a backlogged MY2021 order unless the '22 does not need the same supply chain-impacted parts (which does not seem very likely as features tend to be additive rather than subtractive).

People are now receiving their 2022 vehicles before several have gotten their 21s.

You have to remember with these highly customizable cars, certain build options will likely be delayed more so than others.

Indeed. I asked my dealer to find out which one of my chosen build options might be responsible for the production delay. I was told that even if we could find out, once production starts, the build is fixed and cannot be changed. So that IR night-vision option might be costing more than $$ ?

Just to give everybody updated on my progress, since I started this thread. I finally managed to have sometime to call PCNA, they offered to open a ticket for this which they did. I gave that ticket number to my dealership but not expecting to hear back before next week. I will keep you guys appraised.

I have also opened a case with PCNA & it has now been escalated to a Regional Specialist, Porsche Customer Support. They say I will hear more in 2-3 business days.

No surprise just received a turn down. See PCNA response following. Hope you all have better luck.

"I hope all is well.

We have carefully reviewed your goodwill request with our management team for your vehicle delivery delay. The delay of your vehicle delivery was caused by the semiconductor shortage. We ask for your understanding that the semiconductor shortage is a global supply issue outside the control of Porsche Cars North America and has impacted the entire automotive industry as a whole. Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide goodwill in this matter.
We suggest that you discuss your concerns with management at your selling dealership.

While we are unable to provide a different resolution, we appreciate the opportunity to review your concern. Thank you for contacting Porsche."

Maybe reply with "why are other cars that were ordered later coming through?"

That sucks. What did your dealership say?

That’s exactly what I expected their response to be and, in truth, if MY22’s were being delayed in a similar fashion I’d wholly agree. This, of course, is not the case as it would appear that the issue affects many of the builds that went into production a week or two prior to the August shutdown. If you were fortunate enough to have your car hit V260 status after the shutdown occurred your vehicle is likely on a boat or at your dealer.

What a mess.

It's nonsensical. I called Porsche NA, got a VIN for 2021 4CT. They had no other info. I asked my dealer, and they were no help. One of the members on this forum works at a dealership and looked up my VIN for me, found 3 open issues:
1 - Key FOB
2 - TPM control unit
3 - Wireless phone charger.
Only the TPM is a stop sale. I forwarded to my SA. He forwarded to Sales Manager. I expect to hear nothing.

If I'm understanding it correctly, it's likely complete(since it started production on 7/6) and it's just missing the TPM control unit, (as so many cars are). My issue is, WHY IS IT SITTING IN ZUFFENHAUSEN? They've been shipping these cars without TPM control units FOR MONTHS. They sit at port in the US and get installed later or they get installed at the dealer. But to sit in a parking lot in Germany for no credible reason is just beyond my understanding.

mine is similar to yours. Started production in July but hasn’t left factory yet scheduled to leave next month. Regular 4s. Delivery is now early January 2022 and worried about losing tax credit.

I t
I just checked TYD and delivery date, for MY21, has further been delayed to 12/24. I do not think that this is acceptable to get a MY21 end of December not to mention that it could get further delayed and actually get delivered in 2022.

For background, I placed the order on June 21 for June 28 lock date. The car started production on July 19. At time of order it was supposed to be delivered on September 3rd.
since then it has been delayed to October 8 then November 26 and now December 24.

For anyone in the same situation as myself, I think we should do something together to raise this issue with Porsche. Please let me know if you are having the same situation and ideas on how to address this.
Sorry to hear that
I think given the current state of affairs with massive shipping problems (which are going to get worse) that’s going to be the “new” normal....
