Ancient german names. You may want to look into the „Nibelungensage“ for further Inspiration.

Heidi (Klum)
Claudia (Schiffer)

if you want a Supermodel reference :)

I’d go for strudel, sauerkraut or waffle! 😂😂 (don’t like them but I’m sure your car will understand the language!)

Hello good people of the Taycan forum, I thought we would have a little fun here...

I fly to NJ tomorrow to pick up my new 2021 mamba green Taycan 4CT tomorrow and I need a name for her. Normally, it's easy...my old Saab 900s was named Uta, my Jetta VW tdi was named Ursula.

The new Porsche, of course, needs a good German female name, but it's a Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, dubbed "a mix between a sex act and a station wagon" by my business partner and she needs a sexy name. I didn't think this would be so hard. I've enlisted the help of my German, my American and my British friends and ChatGPT and we can't seem to come to a consensus on what's German sounding AND sexy, so I thought I would bring it up for a vote on this forum.

Here's what I've got in order of my preferences...

1. Annaliese (Ani)
2. Katarina (Kati)
3. Klara
4. Magdalena
5. Marlena
6. Brigitte (although this is more French sounding. think Bridgette Bardo)
7. Liesel
8. Lischen (nickname, but I forgot for what.)
9. Fritzi - my German guy friend living in Suisse offered this one and said it was a YOLO hipster name.

Names taken off the list:
Ava - not German enough
Frieda/Freya - More Scandinavian sounding
Taitina - Russian
Astrid -
Sofia/Sofie - I think Italia
Lotta, Ida, Bromehilde, Hildegarde, Helga, Greta - voted out for lack of sex appeal
Uta (I thought this was a sexy name, but my American guy friends say this is not sexy enough.)
Julia - too American

I'm hoping to make a decision by tomorrow at 2pm ET when I pick up the car...
Brunhilde is the obvious first choice. I present my justification below.

In Icelandic and German mythology, Brunhilde was a strong and beautiful princess who was cruelly deceived by her lover. Her story is told in the Edda poems of Iceland and the Nibelungenlied , a German poem of the thirteenth century CE. Her name appears with many slight variations, including Brunhild, Brunhilda, or Brynhildr.

For me, it’s Marlene; it evokes an elusive, sultry sexiness while simultaneously exuding a sense of command and control, with just the right dose of (the good kind of) “bitchiness” … I guess I have a thing for women who aren’t easily pliable.

So funny story about names. My mom named me Monique, which in the 70s - 90s was considered a sexy name in America, but in 91, I spent a year abroad in France. Turns out that in France was considered an old lady/grandmother name. (Like "Bertha" for the Americans.)

As I've been polling men on names, my German, Swiss, American, Czech and British friends all had VERY different ideas of what sexy was.

Now, I understand that Monique is popular in France again. 10 years ago, it was a sweet little girls name (like Sophia for the Americans), so maybe in another 10 it will be sexy again? Who knows?

Thank you all for your input! This has been fun. In the end, I decided on Magdalena. She's a big car with a big personality so she needed a big name. (Apologies Wasser, Heidi is an wonderful name, but it's too soft and sweet for this beast. )

Turns out that my long time friend 's husband, is a big Porsche fan, see pics of his garage. The pictured Porsches are in a trailer, but I'll see if I can get a photo tomorrow when it's light.

Now I have to figure out why my mobile charger is taking 40 hours to charge, but I suspect that the answer is somewhere on this forum....
It's great to see all the new suggested names from people who only read the original post and can't be bothered reading the rest of the thread.
😅

For all those tldr people....

The car has now been named. She is Magdalena.

Ps It's amazing how slow the phone charges considering it gets hotter than a McDonalds Apple Pie.
