Not an expert here, but from what I’ve read the EPA has several testing protocols. Frequently used are a 2 cycle and a 5 cycle test. If a manufacturer chooses the simplified 2 cycle the EPA takes the number the car achieves and derates it to 70%. I believe Porsche chose the 2 cycle test for the Taycan. So, take those numbers and add 30% and that’s what the car tested at in the 2-cycle. As far as I know Tesla tends to use the 5-cycle approach where no derating factor is used. I also think I read somewhere the EPA recently modified the derating factor to 80%.

Yep and this shows there is no standard EPA testing regime that actually works! The Tesla ranges are unachievable and the Taycan ranges are stupidly low.

Do me a favor, post pictures of your actual mileage. Run the cars down to about 20% or lower battery and then show me the actual mileage. Thanks

Been pretty happy seeing my range go up consistently. It's been between 30-45 degrees here consistently for the past week or so.

Just for fun, how many miles do you have ?? And do you drive the car down below 30% battery before you charge ??

Roughly 1600 miles (took delivery early October). I typically don't get below 30%...save for two long trips where I think I dipped to mid 20%.

Understood. I have driven mine 7700 miles, i drive it down below 30%, sometimes even lower, so the "estimate" range has changed to "TRUE" range IMO. I uses to see numbers in the 213 range for 85% but over time and again, actually driving it down to see "real" range, I am now at 175-180 miles for 85% charge.

Hmm...I'm also 4S+ and at sea-level, haha. Dunno what the elevation is where you're at. I'm hoping to do some road trips once nice weather comes back around, so I'll have my fingers crossed. Both for actual range and more EA stations.

Yeah no way in hell I get ranges like that as I mostly drive short commutes (5 - 10km). And it's also between 0 to -12 here. Not that it matters since I have no need for the range during daily commuting.

TeslaBjørn managed 580km in the 4S+ with 19" doing 90km/h. Mind you, in one go so obviously we won't get these ranges if all you do is drive for 10 minutes at a time.

Last dealership update I had was in October. If I recall correctly it was the big update from August. Not certain what was included.

Your drive through the NC mountains showed great numbers!
If you passed through or around Asheville I am certain you had some beautiful scenery.
If you take your car to the dealership to just do software updates, do they charge you a fee?

This included a 6km school run every day for 2 weeks. Otherwise I usually drive between 18km and 35km around town with city highways.

Temperature is around 18°C, so I usually switch off the AC.

I get down to about 17kwh even in -12c with AC on eco, 21c. One way. Not the other. Norway is just mountains so lots of hills. Flat roads are rare. But only if I go about the same distance you've shown here. Anything less and woof. :p I mean, this is a Porsche and I'll drive it like one.

Might go for a road trip soon and can't wait to log everything! :D
