as an intro I am Yan based in the NW UK and have a Crayon 4s CT on order was July build now September MY22 build - for now!

been spending allot of time on hear and instagram searching for volcano and crayon pictures to compare As I am having constant serious colour wobbles between crayon and volcano being a serial mid to dark grey buyer for the last 10 years or so.​

called into one of the Manchester dealers who had allot of crayon 911, Macan, Cayman etc but alas no Taycan.​

did however have this which looked stunning but still didn’t help )​

Thanks for the pic of the Mamba Green. That’s almost identical spec to the one I’ve ordered (Vesuvius wheels and black door handles aside) so it’s great to see one in the flesh and not in promotional shoots. Feeling very happy about my choice now!

If the dealer is to be believed (and, to be fair, they’ve an awful lot of uncertainty I gather with the semi-conductor issue) it’s due to them late September for an early October delivery. We’ll see. I’m mentally telling myself it’s coming next year so it can only be a pleasant surprise. When are you hoping to see yours?

I’m going for the black/chalk beige full leather. I really went back and forth with the crayon but for me, just slightly, it was a bit too austere on the configurator. Shame really as I do like the contrast on the rear seats with the black/white whereas the beige is beige across the whole rear bench. Despite going for one of the more outre colours, I didn’t have the stones for the full “watermelon” look with the Bordeaux red interior. Could have been persuaded by blackberry/black but the colours are the wrong way round (i.e. the seats should be blackberry for me and the rest black, as opposed to the way it is).

I hear you re going mad on the options. Suffice to say I went way north of £100k but I want to enjoy the car and not look back and go, ah, I wish I’d got this/that or the other. i’d love to have biege leather, but in my previous cars (volvo v70 and xc90) it was too hard to clean.
Currently I have black/biege combo in renault koleos, where on the biege part are some tracks of usage…. that’s why I‘ll have tartuffe brown.

mamba green was my second choice….but in that case, i’ll go with waterlemon

Absolutely, it is a swine. Although I had porcelain leather in a SL500 R231 a few years back so beige seems a walk in the park in comparison. Just got to keep on top of the dye transfer from denim but I’m a little bit house proud when it comes to cars so I tend to clean it up as I spot it happening.

We’re both on the same page here for sure. I wavered so much about going for the Turbo but knew myself too well and I’d have ended up adding all the spec on as well to boot. Then of course you’re close to the Turbo S and we know where that ends. Managed to rationalise it in my own mind by thinking that whilst the 0-60 of both the Turbo models is beyond astonishing I’d rather have the handling bells and whistles to round the car out. Given Porsche’s propensity for modesty with performance stats too and the fact it should beat my outgoing AMG63s in acceleration terms anyway I think it’s a sweet spot, for me at least. I’ll miss the theatre of that car though, with the diff at its loosest setting I think it had a long-held grudge against me!

Hopefully I’ll prove myself right on this one! First Porsche for me, and first EV.

I hear you both on the death by a thousand Cuts configurator. My build locks in 10 days and it keeps creeping up each day.

I couldn’t get a 4s or turbo allocation until next year and so settled on the fact that this will already be considerably faster than any car I’ve owned before and that the money would be better spent on options but I think I may have gone overboard on the custom leather with mamba green stitching.

Problem is once i have an idea I find it very hard to walk back with worrying about post purchase regrets. Oh well only 10 more days of obsessing….

Completely in the same boat as you. The amount of times I‘ve changed/tinkered/upped/downed and uhmmed and ahhed about finessing the spec is ridiculous. I’ve half expected the dealer to take out a restraining order on me given my ambivalence and prevarication…. thank goodness they’re as indulgent as they are. Lovely choice on the leather, by the way.

Yan355, is that the Volcano Grey? I'm trying to figure out the best colour for a CT and that looks great. Hides the plastic arches.
