Just got my Taycan 4S earlier this week and noticed an annoying sound from the brake pedal when I release it. Has anybody else noticed this? Sounds like the spring mechanism is catching something....

Yes I have exactly the same thing - getting it checked when next at the dealership.

I think this is normal until the brake discs and pads bed in and then the regenerative braking starts.

Mine did this for about 200miles then stopped.

What mileages have you done?

As far as I can work out it does it at the start of a journey, if not driven for a short while eg. overnight, to clean the brake discs. After a short distance the regen kicks, when braking, rather than the normal brakes and the brake pedal clunk stops.

Yes, I have the same thing & I’ve posted about it here.

I have Taycan Turbo S. Bought Jan this year. Now done 617 miles. It’s a clank, sometimes, when the pedal is released. Like something that is sprung not returning to rest due to stiction but then clanks into place.

My OPC in Swindon say nothing’s wrong. I don’t know what to do now except strangely hope loads of folk report the problem & Porsche do something about it.

This is definitely and without doubt a problem that needs resolving. Convincing my OPC is going to be very difficult though.

Exactly the same deal here, a loud knocking noise when the pedal springs back, but only after the friction brakes have been engaged (eg, when starting off and the car cleans the brakes for the first few stops).

I think it is a common issue, but it definitely doesn't seem like it would have been designed like that. I'm going to ask the dealer to look at it (again) the next time the car goes in.

Had the same thing on my car on delivery in December.

Was told by the SC that it would go away when regenerative braking kicked in……and in fairness, it has.

Would still be interested to see if you guys get a different solution though. Always felt like that was somewhat of a wait and hope answer that they were giving.

Hey guys, I realise this is a very old post but did this issue resolve itself when the regen kicks in at c.600 miles?

I have the same issue but have only done 200 miles so hoping it goes away?

many thanks in advance!
