Not impressed real world test. Battery issues or just marketing lies?

What kind of tires and size do you have?
20" AEZ wheels with Pirelli PZero Winter. I would suspect at least 3-5% range loss by not using aero wheels.

Finally got a day with real winterL: 3F (-16C). I did a ~220 mile trip with a short recharge on the way. The short of it is range 185-195 miles at this temp (see below some errors). 73mph in range mode, interior temp set to 70F.

1. Leg 1 : 83 miles, 495 Wh/mi, estimated range 185 miles with the caveat that I had the charging stop programmed. I started with a warm battery. The consumption was settling at 475 Wh/mi for most of the trip, then suddenly started to increase despite no change in conditions - last 5-10 miles. I remembered then the car pre-warms the battery to optimize charging. I am guessing I lost about 2% battery with that process. If you take that out, range would be a litter better at ~195 miles. I was able to charge at ~67 kWh (350 KWh charger) starting at 54% battery remaining. I thought this is OK given the temps.

2. Leg 2: ~30-40 miles in town I did not measure

3. Road back: 15 F (-9C), total 86 miles. Starting with a cold battery (31F). 424 Wh/mile, estimated total range 192 miles. The battery stayed cold (40s) barely got to 50F by the time I got home.

Again my impression is that starting with a warm battery is key in very cold whether. The total battery estimate on the way back was 81 kWh (53 to 8%), while on the way in the estimate was 90 kWh (99 to 54%).

I am showing 101 mile range @ 50% charge (When I am not driving the car for more than 4-5 days I only charge to 50%)
