I've obviously added metallic and we need comfort access because of the 2 little ones but if you were in my pauper shoes, what would be your must have options to use up the other £5k ($6.5k)?

An £80k budget is hardly pauper...usually...!
If I was in your shoes, I would wait and save some more, or wait a few years when the second hand market has (hopefully) cooled down.
Otherwise, your spec will just end up being too compromised.

I wouldn't buy a Taycan with that budget - which is still significant - where you can get much better value and practicality (as a family) from other marques.

Porsche basically forces options otherwise you don't get much for your money. Their pricing model is evidently designed that way now I have obsessed over the configurator for hours (I do have a life, really).

If it must be an EV, consider:
Audi e-Tron
Jag IPACE
Merc EQB or EQC
Hyundai Ioniq 5

Their base prices start at around £30-50k, meaning you can then option them up to something luxury.

While your heart might be set on a Taycan, any one of the above sat on your drive will bring a smile - ride quality will be nice - and your family will thank you for a vehicle designed for passengers, rather than compromising on that slightly for raw performance.

For that money I would get a fully loaded BMW i4 M50.
Very very fast and properly spec’d with nice leather and toys. I’d have san Remo green with cognac leather

Thanks for all your input so far. I should mention that we already have a Volvo XC90 as our family car so the Taycan is more of a luxury folly.

Most of the above was on my list so that’s great. The outlier was air suspension. I thought that would come in handy in and around town due to all the bleedin speed bumps!

100% on air suspension as you are in the UK. Tbh the state of our roads and the ever increasing road furniture is on of the reasons I stuck with the CT over the ST even. But ST with air will give you cover.

My rwd was £79500 and just about got the basics: nice colour, wheels, roof, mirrors Bose and sunroof. Obv ST is a little more so think you might need to go to 83ish. Fantastic cars and don’t be put off by ppl saying you NEED 15k of extras ….maybe forsake the roof?
By the way, I have steel springs and because of the width of the car I clear those speed bumps at 15 mph easily
