Optional insurance

When I ordered my Turbo, the dealer presented the below list of optional insurances. I never bothered; I've got it ingrained in me not to bother with most insurance. I proudly upgrade every year to yet another caseless, insuranceless iPhone, knowing I've now saved so much I can afford something extravagant, like folding wing mirrors on a Taycan. Yet, and I'm definitely just asking for a friend here, said Turbo may have curbed once or twice, so is it worth taking any of the insurances? Does anyone have any experience with how good the cover is and ease of claiming? My erm friend is getting 21" Mission E's on their new Taycan, so is slightly worried.

Alloy Wheel PRESTIGE Cover
Protects you against unforeseen costs incurred by accidental damage to your alloys. Prestige Tyre Cover
Protects you against unforeseen costs incurred by accidental or malicious damage to your tyres. It covers the cost of up to 5 replacement tyres (up to £1500 in total value) during the period of cover and will contribute up to £300 towards the cost of a replacement. DEFAQTO 5 star rating. 1, 2 and 3 year terms available. *

Depends how much they are wanting to charge you for it all. If you are interested in this sort of insurance, I suspect it might be cheaper with a specialist such as ALA. I would compare so that at least you have an idea whether they are competitive or not.

The Taycan is my wife's car. She likes curbs.

I paid around USD 2,000 for unlimited coverage wheel/tires for damage through Fidelity for 84 months (7 years).

It removes the stress of when to fix a curbed wheel - my dealership confirmed, if a wheel is damaged, they have the wheel/tire guy come out and fix it. That simple.

I keep it simple and self-insure. Beats listening to the finance guys/girls sales pitch and agonizing/haggling over costs and probabilities. If I curb a wheel, well, my motto is that stupidity needs to be punished immediately.
