I’m considering getting my break calipers painted. They are currently black and don’t really show through the 20” Turbo Aero wheels. Taycan is white so the build is identical to this picture. My initial thinking is to go with red, but also have been thinking yellow lately. I appreciate any opiniuns and other things to consider. I have a reputable, high-quality custom wheel shop.

Thanks.

FWIW I am preferring the OE look on this car. I LOVE the PSCB brakes but wasn't willing to go there on this RWD build. They're barely show so I think it's not worth it with turbo aero wheels. Here is mine for reference.

I'm intending to do this during the spring - I will let PC handle all of it so it will still be Porsche Approved. Will update when done! Would appreciate input from others who have done it.

Be very careful my friend had his 911 calipers painted via a specialist looked great. However when he took the car in to part exchange for a new Taycan the Porsche dealer knocked the price of his part exchange down by approx 8,000 dollars if I am not mistaken as Porsche cannot sell a car that’s not original so they put new calipers on so I would not bother

If you are determined to do it

For my money red, white, yellow and black are all standard - - yellow would make you look like a wannabe -

If you have a free choice, why not stand out with something unusual like light blue, turquoise, gold or light green etc? orange?

I've had the calipers on three cars painted red so far, all by the same shop. All of them turned out fantastic. Will definitely have the same done to the Taycan, which is arriving with the white PSCB calipers. Go for it!

Had mine painted for $400 in the Bay Area. Looks amazing. Painted in place, their masking skills are impeccable. I do work at a high end collision shop, so I know quality when I see it. They were black, dull boring ugly black. Now they're yellow and gorgeous.

For powder coat, it was $800 but I had to remove calipers myself, etc. Bleed brake system and a bunch of crap that I felt that was not worth it.

If you plan on keeping those wheels I wouldn't waste your time/money. Once you see it in person you'll notice you can barely see the calipers bc they are blocked out by the covers. BUT if you get a bright color you'll be able to see some portion...just don't know if it's worth the money/hassle. Enjoy your car none the less!

Looks really good. Is that the porsche speed yellow color you used or a different color?

Looks amazing. Also in the Bay Area, would you mind sharing the shop that did the work? Thanks!!
