Does anyone know if:
1. The screen only comes on if there is someone in the passenger seat?
2. The screen can be turned off regardless of whether someone is in the passenger seat?

Thanks

Screen is off ( black ) with " Taycan " on when seat is not occupied, and comes on automatically when passenger is seated. Can be turned off if desired as well.

The screen doesn't care if anyone is in the Passenger seat or not. It doesn't "come on" by itself. You can turn it on/off from the driver's seat the exact same way a passenger would (with a tap on the screen). I sometimes leave the Nav screen up on the Pass display while my Music screen is up in the main/middle display.

Not in my car. My wife had to turn it on if she wanted to use it. Just like I can do when she's not in the car.

Normally it just shows a TAYCAN logo until someone/anyone turns it on...

Just tap the screen and it will come on! Passenger Display defaults to the Taycan logo everytime you restart the car. Don't think having a passenger in the seat automatically turns on the screen, you have to tap it.

Yes, in the bottom right hand corner of the climate control display click on the little Power icon and you can turn off the Passenger Display. Taycan logo will go away when you turn it completely off.

This must only be US. In the Uk one of my kid was slid down the seat and the display went to Taycan. Once he moved it came on. Must be a pressure sensor in the seat.

In the US mine requires butt in seat for the passenger display to show anything other than the Taycan logo (or you can turn it off).

This contradicts what "evanevery" said above; he indicates that the Passenger Display works fine with the driver as the only person in the car. Can you confirm that you have tried to turn on the Passenger Display when you as driver are the only person in the car, and it will not turn on?

It works until you put it in D without a passenger. With no one there it’ll switch to the Taycan screen.

It is designed to be "off" (Taycan logo only) if there is no passenger in the seat. If someone claims that it stays on once the car is in motion with nobody in the seat, then the sensor is not working properly (or some other "bug"). And yes, it can be turned off completely.

Not correct.
There is already a well-known workaround (this topic is over a year old!!)

First, select the middle button in the lower middle display.
Then, deselect the checkbox in the pop-up menu in the upper middle display.
This is only possible in Park.
Close the pop-up menu.

If this doesn't work the first time, try this:
-Call up the pop-up menu again.
-Select (activate) the standby mode.
-Put into Drive.
-Put into Park.
-Deselect the standby mode.
-Close pop-up menu.
-Put into Drive.

As long as you don't put it into Park it will stay on. ?

The setting is not stored though so you have to do this every time you start the car.

You're welcome. ?
I don’t think most people want to do this every time they start their cars. I would like to have the Passenger Screen Option, even just for aesthetics, but I’m not willing to do the workaround so I skipped the Option.

If it's a workaround, then that's not how it was designed. My point was regarding the standard design.

You're welcome.

Ok dude, I provided a solution for people that want it on and all you can produce is: "too much work" and "not how it was designed".
Have it your way then.
Jeezz...?
Jeez, dude - go back and look at the OPs questions. I just stated a few facts. You come back with how "wrong" it all was. Nobody is asking to have it their way. Chill "dude."
