I’m really really hoping Porsche makes this available for MY’2020 vehicles - it will be a huge disappointment if this isn’t provided as either an OTA update, or dealer installed firmware.

I'm 99% sure it will be. I believe it's more of a Charger update than a car update, our cars are already identified by chargers and can initiate plug & charge. I had 2 free sessions at EA 350 chargers where I showed up, plugged in the car, and the session just began. No app, no button presses, no phone calls; just plugged in to my car and it whirred right to action.

this could also mean the death of the Charge America app - which would be a good thing - no longer needed if you simply plug the vehicle in -may explain why they are not fixing too many bug.
