The first time I drove one I tried to put it in Drive by pushing up. Good thing the sales guy was with me or I might have driven through the showroom door. Enough said.
That sales guy should've adviced you to stop driving cars in the first place.
Period. ??‍♂
Nuf said.

So, looking at the votes, most people prefer right = drive, middle = neutral and left = reverse.

In an ICE, at least if it is a Porsche, the shifting is done manually with clutch and all.. Its a drivers car.

So in an ICE, it’s always been P-R-N-D-L, which is why I’m assuming they chose R-N-D as the order of the control.

What’s being asked is if D-N-R is more intuitive, as currently you flip the lever up/forwards to go backward and down/to the rear to go forward.

On a column shifter/console you shift through R to get to D, but with this control there’s nothing to shift “through” (unless you count “virtually” shifting through N).

You may think it’s ridiculous, I think it’s a valid UI question. So far the poll says Porsche got it right, that’s the goal of the poll.
